Defending U.S. Open 9-Ball Champion Jayson "Eagle Eye" Shaw is on a mission to get back-to-back wins in Vegas. Can he do it? Those on the scene say he's hitting 'em pretty sporty.

From Germany, 21-year-old Joshua Filler aka "Filler the Killer" always rises to the top in any event he competes in. He's a legend in the making, and odds on this gentleman to score the big W are a good bet.

Francisco Sanchez Ruiz hails from Spain and brings a sense of class to the event. A humble player, but make not mistake about it, on a field of tournament blue, he's a lion.

The younger of the Ko Brothers, Ko Ping-Chung is a fierce comeptitor, and nobody likes to pull his name in the draw because they know they will be in a bloody battle to the finish line. Watch this 23-year-old make some noise!

Jeffrey De Luna, from Philippines, is 35 years age. They call him "Jeff Bata" because his playing style is so similar to Efren Bata Reyes. And we all know how strong Efren plays.

Everybody loves Alex Pagulayan. Though he represents Canada, most know he's a Filipino sweetie pie with dual citizenship. If Alex wants to win, he will win. Vegas is a tough place for pool players to compete in due to the distractions, and I hope Alex has 100 percent of his concentration on this championship title. If The Lion roars in the winner's circle, we will all be roaring with him.

Aloysius Yapp dropped out of school to compete in 9-ball pool professionally. To most people, it’d seem like a risky move, and you’d constantly be asking yourself: “What if I don’t make it?” Aloysius’ answer to this tough question was this: “You’ve got to be fully committed to your choice, and don’t give up. I mean, that’s what I’ve done.” And it looks like his hard work has paid off.

This kid is the real deal and has pool running in his blood. He won the junior world championship at the age of 18. Look at him now! Congratulations on making the Final 16! If the 23-year-old wins, Singapore will be celebrating the night away, as will we right there with them — with Aloysius Yapp.

Lui Haitao from China. Haitao reached the semi-final of the 2012 WPA World Eight-ball Championship, and the 2013 World Games. Haitao won the doubles event at the 2017 Asian Indoor Games; alongside snooker player Lyu Haotian. The 37-year-old was the winner of the Chinese World Pool Championship this year and won the World Cup of pool in 2018. He's definitely on radar to make it to the finals.

Jeffrey Ignacio is 26 years old, from Philippines. His nickname, according to Google, is "Sebastian." Whenever a Filipino makes it to the last day of an event, you can be sure that they're going to fight with all their might to win. Jeffrey has what it takes to win this event.

Another 23-year-old in the Last 16, Hsu Jui-An from Taiwan will have his hands full with Can Wang from China, but he is a fierce competitor and has what it takes to win. He will be one to watch--and watch closely.
