Euro Team Selection Process- a weakness

At end of press conference, Emily Frazier says will look into how Europe put their team together. Presumably that means tweaking the qualification and selection criteria .

It sounds to me like she said they would look into making the US selection process like the European one, with qualification points.

There’s no question that no Filler last year and no Albin this year was nothing less than an absolutely generous gift team Eorope gave the US team - whoever other than Chamat may be responsible for that decision - THANKS !!!

Europe are selecting players for this unique event based on regular tournament results

The way around this is to have selection of a certain number of players via tournament results to a 10 to 16 player selection event held 2 months before the Mosconi

Say 8 players from the year's tournament results and 8 players based on previous Mosconi/team events (like world cup of pool) results

Then you have an intense 1 or 2 day selection event where players battle it out for the 5 places in the team

This way you have new players who have to prove themselves against the likes of Appleton and Melling etc

Just watched the presentations and Barry Hearn's speech

No way they don't try get more Englishmen on the team (i.e. Appleton and Melling).
