I heard a rumor that Fast Larry has received death threats and gone into hiding. There will always be jealous people in the world and it may be some of those that made these threats.
Usually only persons of extremely high stature like Presidents and other national leaders have to worry about assassination. Perhaps because Larry is a World Leader in pool he has to suffer through the same kind of problems. While this can only serve to enhance the already remarkable legend of this pool playing icon; it is a shame if Larry will be less available to meet with his adoring fans.
Is there anyone out there that could help protect Larry so he can go to the Super Billiards Expo? If enough flak suit wearing, gun toting volunteers could be found to protect him around the clock, maybe he would be safe. We would need people willing to protect him at all costs and without regard for their personal safety. What say you, especially you country folk who have lots of guns and love to shoot stuff?
If enough people contact your state representatives making them aware of this problem, perhaps Larry could get a State Trooper escort from Athens Georgia up Route 95 to Philadelphia. Remember, the handoff spots at the borders between States could be one of the weak links if not conducted properly. Closing down the overpasses over the highway as Larry passes would also be wise.
Also, has Allen Hopkins considered any special provisions to protect Larry? Maybe he could build a chamber of transparent bullet proof material in which Larry could put on his spectacular show. Perhaps all the vendors at the Super Expo would be willing to pay a surcharge to go into a fund to provide for Larry's security. Undoubtedly, they will benefit many fold from all the extra people that will attend to see the Greatest Trick Shot Artist of All Time. Who will be the first to start on this noble cause? Which of you could live with yourself if you do nothing now? Will it really be a SUPER Expo if Larry is not there?
Are there any persons who post here and will be going to Valley Forge as amateur players or regular attendees willing to kick in a hundred or two to see one of, if not the, greatest living pool shooter? Stand up now and be counted! What say ye?
