My first contact with Meullers

So last night at my local pool hall the gentlemen let me shoot with his meucci cue he purchased from muellers online. After shooting with the meucci cue I can honestly say I wanted to use my mcdermott as fire wood. The shaft, the hit just felt 100x better. I felt more accurate with the meucci. I really enjoyed playing with it. So I wanted to buy one after that experience, I came home and to my surprise my wife said she would buy me a brand new Meucci cue. I was excited.

I looked on the Muellers website and most of the meucci cues said back ordered except one. so I called and said i seen the site and all of the meucci cues said back ordered. The guy proceeded to tell me they are back ordered from the factory and he had no idea when they would get more in and to keep checking the site, which is fine the response was acceptable.

So I confirmed that they had no meucci cue models in stock, and the call took a turn for the worst here, the guy kinda snapped on me and said "WE HAVE NONE IN STOCK" (a little bit of a shitty tone I may add)

SO I Told him that I did see one on the site that did not say back ordered, he was like oh I may have one of those. So I was like do you have any clue what you do have in stock, sure my comment was a little shitty but it was after his was shitty. "Then he proceeded to get a little loud so I hung up.

Kinda pissed me off, Meucci's are not cheap and Im will to spend so I didn't get this guys attitude. I wont name names but it was bullshit. Really disappointed with the way I was treated after the guy spoke so highly of Muellers at the pool hall. oh well I guess I will figure out where to buy my cue this weekend, I know seyberts is always lights out, top notch service, I just wanted to deal with a dealer that had a wide selection of meucci cues. Thought I would share this experience with the fourms.

I don't know what kind of shaft (they make several different ones) was on his Meucci, but I have a Meucci PRO shaft (not the laminated model) that plays good. If the one you used wasn't the PRO, I'd suggest you try the PRO before you buy a Meucci without a PRO shaft.

I don't have a Meucci butt. I use the PRO shaft on my McDermott...I call it my "McMeucci" cue.

I think it was the Meucci classic shaft probably 12.75mm
I have to say I was really digging the shaft but also like the meucci cue butt too, the total package the weight and balance felt right and the shaft and tip felt amazing. I also liked how the wrap on the meucci was coated.

This was the cue I tried: http://www.muellers.com/Meucci-Original-Cue--84-4,7650.html

The one I wanted was the same just in black: http://www.muellers.com/Meucci-Original-Cue--84-3,7649.html

I may end up paying a few hundred more for a different one though. My wife was down to buy me a more expensive one if I wanted. I really like the gambler/casino cue like every one else does lol. But I kinda didnt wanna be like everyone else.

The shafts are on this page. I think the PRO is the best one they make.

http://meuccicues.com/meuccishafts.html

The pin on the Pro series is 3/8-10 (same as most McDermott cues) which is different than the regular Meucci cues. I think they are 5/16-18 pins. I'm sure they can make whatever you want, if you are willing to pay for it.

Everything happens for a reason, they say, ChicagoJay. You were neither meant to get a Meucci or buy from Mueller's. You are destined to go to Ozone Billiards and get yourself a sweet hitting Schon.

Can't speak as to what they have but in general I prefer dealing with Seyberts ( AZ Marketplace ) for this type of stuff over Mueller. Can't say I've had that bad of an experience with them but I do know Seyberts have been absolutely great and go above and beyond.

You wont name names? You just did! You named Mueller's.

That's bullshit right there.

You'll drag the business name through the dirt but wont name names?

You're willing to hurt a business, the livelihood of numerous individuals, in order to protect the guy that was rude to you? That makes zero sense.

Man up. Name him.

I won't go into the Meucci issue....

I bought a lot of cues from Meullers in the 90's and early 2000. Mostly good experiences aside from high shippings costs (at that time). Used Ozone also..no complaints and bought from Billiard Warehouse...no complaints. Now Seyberts...my first purchase was a case that I did not like...without any hesitation they took it back and immediately refunded the payment. From there I have remained a loyal customer and have made substantial purchases...and still do. Their customer service is so good every business should take lessons from them. They do it right.
Sorry to hear about Meullers. Each employee represents the company they work for. Piss off/offend a customer and the customer is gone. I do remember a customer service person from Meullers...had a rough edge but controlled it. If he did not know the answer he would say Let me study this and get back to you. I borrowed that phrase for my business.
Consider giving Meullers the courtesy of your feedback about the certain person. I'm sure ownership would like to know. As the saying goes...If you like what we did tell your friends...if not tell us.

I do a lot of online purchasing. I have had the best experiences with Billiard Warehouse and Seyberts. I also have to mention Proficient Billiards for repair work and alterations.

2005 I ordered 3 meucci black dot cues, one for myself and one for 2 close friends of mine .

Sad to say all three of these black dot cues fell apart .
Wrap section cracking , shafts delaminating. the joints of the cue cracking and not flush .
The real sad part of this is Meucci didn't honor their own warranty policies .
There are a few Meucci dealers who got screwed too.
The black Dot cues were falling apart on the shelfs waiting to get sold.
And meucci wouldn't back the warranty on new unused cues

I repair pool cues, every black dot meucci I get in is the same .
Some members say there black dot meucci cue is holding together, and I am glade for those who have had good luck with buying late model meucci cues .

I thought Meucci was a good cue that stood behind quality workmanship .
I was wrong on both accounts .

I'm not sure but I think this cue comes with the Classic shaft.
Not the Pro.
Personally I'd definitely get the Classic but I also hate LD's.
But aside from that personal preference I think the cues balance
better with the Classic shaft.
I also like a forward balanced cue and the Classic shaft being a little
heavier helps make this happen.
Do you remember how long the ferrule was on the cue you played?
If you do that'll help.
In either case, yes, you're right, the new Meucci cues play good and
it's good to know Meucci is back.

I've bought a few things from Meullers, but found them to be out of stock on several other simple items. Have no idea how they run the business, but I know it's hard to sell from an empty shelf. The things I did get came promptly and were just what I ordered. Maybe pool related items are treated as a seasonal thing and summer ain't the season.

It happens I get it everyone has a bad day. Seyberts is top notch, maybe I should just buy a Predator from them, I just never used one before.

This is terrible, I would be extremely pissed off. Did Meucci give you any reasons why they would not repair the cues for you? That was nice of you to buy your close friends some cues, I have to ask do you need anymore close friends lol

No dots on the shaft so it had to be the classic shaft for sure, the cue hit really nice.

Really not digging the style on the first two, 3rd one maybe is the shaft 13mm or 12.5 because you listed both sizes in the auction?

It happens I get it everyone has a bad day. Seyberts is top notch, maybe I should just buy a Predator from them, I just never used one before.

You might like the Predator. It's a fun cue. Can change the weight. Many good shafts to choose from or add on. Don't like it? Seybert's will exchange or refund.
Bad day. If an employee is having a bad day it is not to be passed on to a customer.
To me a bad day is driving behind Hells Angels and your horn is stuck.
