a lo playing in his own league has 1 positive and a few negatives in my opinion.
the positive is that he is there more involved at a closer level with his league members plus he gets a 1st hand account on how every one plays. hopefully catching any sandbaggers.
my apa lo plays on one of my teams with me. i know of 2 other teams he also plays on.now some people will say the lo...if he is a high handicap like ours " 7/8 " helps get his team to the playoffs.
in apa that is where it stops. lo's are not allowed to play in playoffs , tri cups or cities. the way i look at it is ...if our team is good enough with out him to move on through the playoffs , tri cups or cities our team was good enough to make playoffs regardless if he was on the team.
other leagues allow lo's to play on teams in qualifying tournaments and nationals.... i think that is wrong because it leaves the door open for a lo to pull moves like what happened at last years bcapl nationals.
i also used to play on my napa lo's team before i started my own team. i am not sure if napa allows lo's to play on teams at nationals or not. i need to check on that.
as far as rack mechanics go. i would not accuse any one of doing that based on one night. i had a 4 make 3 in a row one night with me racking.
i have all ways preferred loser rack to prevent such problems. i doubt that the lo has racking down to a science like that. heck most pros cant do that.
