Well my mother threw away all my photos from when I was in the military, but i have a lot of find memory that will live on.

BTW if you served, the Golden Corral will feed you dinner for free tomarrow from 4P on, but if you go leave a couple of bucks on the table for th staff, who will be working their butts off.

Here's an older, allegedly wiser, unshowered, and ALMOST retired version of me from Afghanistan last year.

I hit 20 years in 9.5 months...and I'm DONE, SON!!!!

This thread is four years old but it would be nice if there were more photos added this year. Thanks again to all who served or are serving.

Time for another bump!

I know that this is borderline for the main forum but I know that there are many here who are veterans and currently on active duty.

With that said, I would like to invite all who have served, in war or peace time, to stand and be recognized by posting photos and/or a few words.

The following photos are of me in Viet Nam, 1969. I was a 50 gunner in a mechanized infantry unit.

I am having a hard time with words so I will let the photos tell the story.

Sorry guys...

I'm not much of a picture taker... also, it didn't help that the vast majority of the places I was and the time I was in, I was in places that didn't allow photographic equipment or for us to take pictures. lol

Semper fi ... and Godspeed ...

I cannot let this day go by without honoring my Best Friend,
Salvatore A. Mennuti , Capt. USMC, In Country Vietnam '67, '68, '69.
He was seen passing out "Party Favors" during the Siege at Khe Sanh
and also during the Battle for Hue City. Terminal Brain Cancer (attributed
to Agent Orange) claimed his life on 11 Feb 2002 @ 1440 hrs.
I was at his side when he "mustered out". Sal was a Decorated War Hero
and is now at rest in Arlington National Cemetery.

God Bless Him and the Marine Corps.
