Shane vs Max

I don't care if this guy could give Mosconi the 7 & 8.

His slow play caused me to give up after just a few games.

He's no Jayson Shaw or Tony Drago but I didnt
find him so slow it was tough to watch.
I thought he had a decent pace.
To each their own I suppose.

Same here. He's deliberate but not sharking slow.
Beautiful stroke. Perfect setup when he shoots.

I think we should also put in perspective the fact
that he is not on the International stage as often
as many of the players in this tournament.
That kind of pressure playing some of the
best pool you can, against a guy like Shane
can make a guy a little more deliberate.

I agree Joey his set-up and
stroke is beautiful to watch.

Be cool man.

Max is Max, he plays “his” game and plays it well. There’s shot clock at the mcup and I guarantee you he wouldn’t ever foul the shot clock-ever.

Would be a well earned position if Max made the team. He has paid his dues twice and then some.

Yeah he’s my friend and I’m biased. But even if he wasn’t I’d still say the same thing. I probably wouldn’t have made a post about it.

Respectfully,
Fatboy

Ouch..... that safe on the 5 in game (20?) by Shane would give me nightmares for years. What a well played match by SD Kid.....

Max sure had his share of jelly...……….. the opening salvo was stellar though!

Well it was a nail biter. Glad to see the young man from Austria, hold it together. He's a good player, we'll see more of him.

A heartbreaker for Shane.
With Max's finish in this tournament his confidence
should be at an all time high.
I too hope to see him carry that with him in the future.
Fresh blood for elite pool is always a good thing.

Yes, that match had a fairly slow pace of play (at just under 7 minutes per game), particularly when you consider that 2 of the games ended with 1 shot (9-balls on the break) and 11 other games were B&Rs with no interplay between the players.

But several of the matches on the Accu-Stats streaming table (with a time clock) were also at about the same pace. Lechner had 4 matches on that table, and I don't think he had much trouble with the clock.

Eric, are you thinking of Eberle? The Max in this thread is Lechner.
