What is my table worth?

I'm very new to this forum, and I don't know much about billiards. I recently purchased a house that came with this pool table.

The table is labeled as a Fischer Regent Ninety-One. The previous owner told me the table was purchased in the sixties for $1,500. It takes dimes instead of quarters. I have asked some friends that play in local pool leagues what they thought it was worth and they didn't know. They said that it was really nice to play on and in good condition. I tried looking for websites to put the serial number in, but I didn't know exactly where to look for that. If anyone on this forum could help me, that would be greatly appreciated. The album that I linked has a picture with the serial number on it, if that helps at all. I'm looking to sell it and have a guy coming by to check it out, and I just want an idea of how much to offer it for.

Thanks!

I wouldn't sell it. I'd call that room a museum to the mid 60s and charge admission.

Gotta agree with this for sure. Don't remodel this room. I'd pay to have my basement look like that. Really digging the red carpet. Pool table to match.

Value of the table is probably not worth the hassle of moving it. I'd say maybe a grand or so, but that's just a guess. It's worth more as it is currently situated.

If the rubber bumpers never been replaced, it's likely they will need to be. Secondly, if it's located in a basement or second floor, good luck in getting the table out of the room. This table has a one piece slate, you will need extra help for sure. For those reasons, I believe a fair market value could fetch you $300-400.

My mom had those brass plates on the wall when we were growing up, along with Blue Boy and Pinkie portraits. I hated like hell to get rid of them when she passed - kept some in the old cedar chest. Love the Graceland carpet.

I sold a Valley table long ago similar to it (one piece slate, bar coin op bar table). It was worth about $500 at the time. They are now worth about $1,000. I would say $500 or even more for the table. This is a quality bar table.

Is anyone else thinking "Porn Set" or is it just me? :rotflmao:
It's the carpet.
Does that room have an 8 Track player in it?

Of course it does. It's right next to the Lava Lamp & the Color Organ Light. I want to know where the black-light Bruce Lee poster is.

I feel this sudden irrepressible urge to listen to Brother Louie & grow a nice full moustache. Louie, Louie, Louie, L-O-U-I-E-E-E-E.

I have a Fisher table similar to that but without the coin operation. Cost $200 with me hauling it away.

Most likely you won't be able to remove it from that room without cutting the frame in half and the slate possibly as well. The wild card is that it has the coin mechanism and ball return. You may be entirely SOL with cutting that down or getting it out due to that, but am not 100% certain, especially without dimensions of the stairs.

The good news is that if you're the patient type, you can have Glen (RealKingCobra on the forums) re-cushion the table. There aren't any manufacturers making those style cushions any longer so it will have to be a custom job. He just finished my table, including narrowing the pockets and it plays really well!

If you get $500 for it and you don't have to take it apart or move it, you done good.

The bumpers are probably going to need replacing along with new felt and maybe pocket shimming. Start at $800 and let someone talk you down to $500 and they haul it away.

Anyone remember the Sanford & Son episode "A House Is Not A Pool Hall"? and how they got the Pool Table out of Fred's house?

It is unknown exactly how the table was put in.

Could have been moved down there during construction or a remodel, or purchased new and assembled in the room. With the age of the table and room, many things could have happened. I've done things over a long period of time that were an order of magnitude stupider than could have been achieved in a single year.

I sold a 4x8 Valey coin-op to a guy once....couldn't get it into his basement.
:idea2:
...then I remembered a room owner who had a normal 4x8, about 20 miles away, who was thinking of going coin-op....made the deal over the phone...guy had his new table in five hours....:)
