Think AC is an under-utilized venue for pool. They need people in off peak months (which is light eight months out of the year) and pool needs venues like the Hard Rock and Tropicana. When you factor in the amount of players and fans who pack the Expo every year its a bit of a no brainer.

Yep, the Showboat is completely open - not a single machine anywhere. Just a hotel right now with huge amount of open space.

What's the pool room?

I was there a couple years ago and didn't find one...but also didn't particularly look too hard.

I'm in AC about every 2 months and always comment to the Wife how great an area the Showboat has to run a major tourney. I also would be interested in the Rooms name. Like Black Balled, I've never found a place to shoot. Brian.

There's no poolroom in A.C., that I know of.

The closest might be Atlantic City Billiard Club in Egg Harbor.

Only problem with AC is once you go you never want to go back. What a colossal dump. No wonder half the casinos went tits-up. I guess its ok for local degenerate gamblers but nobody would go out of their way to go there. Went to a wedding in Cape May and got talked into going there. I played 10bux worth of slots, had two Heinie's and got the hell out of town. Was glad to see it fade in the rear-view mirror.

If you want to travel inland about 45 miles, there’s QBall billiards....
...owned by Jose Garcia, a fine straight pool player.

Old buildings just being re-done. Look, they could open ten more spots and the place would still be a dump. If you like it that's great. I wouldn't get out of the electric-chair to go to AC again.

I agree that it's a dump.

I'm only interested in poker and the beach bars when they're open, so it suits my needs.

My only pool experience with Atlantic City is from The Color Of Money.

But NJ has an odd amount of pool halls in a small area, Sandcastle, Castle, I think one more, all within a few towns of each-other.

Atlantic city billiards is 10 miles from the boardwalk.

Atlantic City Billiards is a nice room. I stop in there a couple of times every year when we vacation in Ocean City. The owner is very accommodating.
Lots of tables. Mostly GCs and a few AMF's. 3 cushion table too. They have strange hours though and the weekday evenings are packed with APA players.
