I thought your post was "knocking" the price, just my humble .02$ which I am sure you could care less about(I actually thought the same as you). The way I read it, you were disparagingly referencing the price, like" who would actually pay that", implying it's a rip-off. I do see where you are coming from too. Semantics.....

Best wishes, take it easy

Ahhh, that helps explains a lot and thanks for taking the time to post.

Well, in my "defense" I did not feel I was knocking anything.

Here is what I wrote and is what started this "knocking" business:

$25,000?

Is that realistic for a $4,000 cue owned and used by Rocket?

I have no idea, just askin' because that is a big number for a Tasc.

In my mind, asking if $25,000 is realistic isn't quite knocking anything, and I never meant to imply "who would pay that".

On that note, I would like to meet the person that can lay down 25 large on Rocket's cue. That's stronger than cat piss.

The irony of course is if it were in the For Sale section I wouldn't have mentioned a peep.

Who is this guy compared the many historical sports figures and Americans? Granted, I know who he is but the thought of that cue being sold so high bothers me. I believe game worn uniforms in sports don't command that kind of price.

For example, Michael Jordan game 7 shoes? Socks? Uniform? They may cost more but it has historical value.

This will be just another overpriced cue. If it was Efren's cue than I understand.

I wonder how much is the chalk that Rodney used is worth? 5k?

Efren plays with a $100 cue and is still the best, remember when I saw him play with a cue with tape hanging off of it lol

I feel it adds Zero to the price because of the owner. If it were Mosconi, then yes(and certainly not this amount), otherwise not so much.
Jason

I would agree if it were the owner ONLY, but in this case this is a cue that was used by a notable pro who probably won many tourneys and won a major championship with it plus has the players name engraved in a plaque inlaid in the cue so it has provable provenance. That does add something IMO. How much that remains to be seen.

I think I may have Rodney's Justice's case that is dated 1996. I'll let this puppy go for a measly $5K....

Were you saying my info is not accurate? Just wondering.

I believe the confusion was caused when you replied to Pred asking if Rodney still have his Gus in Post #2 and you stated that he had it three months ago in Post #10.

I believe you were talking about the Tascarella that is for sale and not the Gus which I own. If you were talking about his Gus your information is not accurate.

I don't recall ever making a case for Mr. Morris. Maybe he bought one on the secondary market. I would like to see a photo if you please.

when I said; "I'm gonna say your info is very good." I was having some fun with Mr. Mars since he knew definitively what the status was of Rodney's Gus since he (John Mars) was the person who bought it.

As TheMarsMan added just above, you did, however, make a confusing post which I wasn't referring to.

best,

Will do Mr Justis. The case has some lettering on the bottom that says "1996 US Open". I would love to learn more about this case.

Thank You! Exactly my point from the beginning. You knew it was inappropriate but felt it was OK...

All valid points, and it wasn't posted on AZB(that I have seen) so it seems fair game to talk or "knock" the price. But, I saw Ken chimed in, seemed to be involved with the sale and based upon some friends account of Ken, he was a good guy and did right by them. He mentioned making a deal, probably just priced high weeding out the tire kickers for those that want to make a deal or testing the waters. I am assuming of course. Thanks for the nice response, Snook

R U a lawyer?? You certainly don't think like one.

Point being is it was not inappropriate because this isn't the FOR SALE section.

This is the MAIN FORUM.

This thread isn't a for sale thread,, it is a thread that talks about a cue being sold on another website.
