I know, its a little lower than it should be. When I first came back from college and joined a team as a 6 I sandbagged to stay that way for about a year so "potentially" there could have been 5-10 more wins. I finally decided screw it I hate losing and I turned into let's just destroy people mode

Just started playing APA league about 1 month ago ive played 4 games. Lost my first 2 weeks and won my last 2 weeks. I never competed in pool ive always just shot 8 ball for drinks at the bar. My friend gave me the idea to go play league with him long story short i ended up joining a 9 ball league the first night not knowing anyone or knowing how to play 9 ball. Im happy.:smile:

Yeah, even for APA, that is destroying mode. You must clean up in all those local tourneys I see advertised in IA
I'm getting into a slump :frown:
I barely won my match last night 12-8.
I scratched four times on the break!
1. Made 2 balls and scratched in the side.
2. Made 3 balls and cue ball of the table.
3. Made 5 balls!!! and scratched in the side.
4. Made 2 balls and scratched in the side.
I couldn't get the cue ball to stick, every time it would glance off the rack straight for the right side pocket.
Been shooting strong my self in 8 ball ranked 6 I went 11-1 in 9 I'm a 5 went 8-2. This is apa. Both teams got 1st I just wanna make it to vegas I've only been playing pool for 2 and half years and really wanna make it out there been told its great how did u guys like ur vegas trip those that have made it?
I have a feeling we would be trouble drinking at the bar excessively at the same time lol. A buddy and myself will play messed up games for shots like Honolulu, or even bank 8 last pocket. I'm still favored vs him, but it tightens the gap a bit. Plus...who doesn't like free shots? :grin:

Lol APA banger for life! Prior to this session for league I had taken off 3 years of pool which includes no league, tournaments, or gambling. I hit for 1 week including 1 small 8 ball tournament before playing in this recent huge big dogs open tournament that had 100+ players. I got 7th/8th so was fairly happy with the showing. I am still rusty, but haven't totally lost it....just not sure I want to get back into it or not seriously. I don't want pool to be a job, but when it's fun I definitely play better it seems.

FFS control whitey! Do you break down the middle or from the side? If I feel I am scratching too much I take some off my break to help with control. I may not make 2-3 and might actually not make any, but no ball in hand for my opponent.
We play on the road tonight...not sure if I will play 8 and 9 or only one of them. Since I am a new member (well new for over a year), I need 10 plays of each in 18 weeks. Good luck to me tonight (crummy bar from what I have heard).
I break from the head string, one diamond out. Usually with 1 or 2 tips above center. I tried breaking harder and softer and it still went to the side pocket.
It was on a Diamond barbox with 5+ year old cloth and dirty grimy balls.
That's about where I break. I wonder if you are hitting the side of the one ball on the break? It is possible the cue ball just got bumped into the side by another ball which I call more bad luck then when it just goes straight in there to which I refer more to operator error.
Still to get back on track I may break down the middle and take just a hair off my break to get my mindset past the scratching aspect.
I probably wasn't hitting them square. The few racks that I did hit well, the captain of the other team started to complain because I was making too many balls lol. He shouted at his player to stop racking them tight!

I may forget losses, sometimes wins, too, but I don't forget drink offers!Edit: I won my masters match last night, 7-2 after losing the first rack. Not too shabby. Tonight is the last night of the BCA playoffs for the division, since we got snowed-out last week. Oughta be easy.. but, I'm a bit bummed because I'm low on funds and there's almost always a game to be had afterwards.

I only play one night a week in a BCA 8 ball league.. quit playing pool totally for about 3 years and have been back playing a day a week or so for about 7-8 months.
Monday is our night and we play 3 man teams and each player plays a set of three games against the other teams guys. So we play 9 games each if you play the whole night. All games on bar boxes
We finished 2nd last session and our currently 1st this session
Team won 15-12 this week and I won 7-2 in mine. This was against the best team in the league IMO.
I had 2 break and runs and twice ran out after the break of my opponent when he made nothing on the break.
Lost a game I should not have by hooking myself on the 8. really over rolled shape and froze myself behind a ball. But I won a game or so I shouldn't have. Good player missed an 8 one game that surprised me
I used to play APA and was a 7/9 .. I don't know winning % and dont know how to get the information like I see posted.

You only need to post your winning percentages if you're concerned about the size of your... stick.

You need to be an active member to be able to view those statistics on the APA site, I believe.
Sounds like a good BCA format, though. Here we have 5 man teams and you only play 1 game against each of the other team's 5 people, so 5 games total over the course of a few hours.
