inlay material

Anybody have some inlay material that matches the Ivorine - 4 Rod?
Or at least very close to it ?

im not sure, but maby real ivory, white ivory. i have never used it and never will but seems about right, minus the weaving of ivorine. elephant that is

Yes Ivory is about the closest I have found also, but was hoping for
even a closer match.

good idea

You could get some 1.375 Ivorine rod and cut it in to slabs for inlaying.

I have the rod and actually have thought of it.
I guess I was being a little paranoid about how brutal
that stuff is on tooling. I was also thinking of the
possibility of it wanting to pop the finish. I do know
that hss tooling does not like this stuff at all. Yes I do
use carbide.
I also have seen plenty of problems with the expansion
and contraction rates of other phenolics compared to
wood down here in the desert.
I already try to stay away from metal rings in my
cues as it is.

Ivorine 4 is terrible to work with. I dulled a brand new carbide tipped $40 saw blade in one cut making a joint collar. Never again.
