I drove down to Richmond VA yesterday with a friend to watch the 1st 2 rounds.
We got to see some good matches.

In the 1st round, Bob Jewett defeated Bob Madenjian by 9 after taking a 15 ball and re-rack penalty.

In the 2nd round, Bob Hunter ran 70 and out against Karen Corr.
Alex Pagulayan won 100 - 16 :)
Dennis Orcollo defeated Rodney Morris in a close come from behind match.

Didn't watch it but I heard that Stevie Moore defeated Jason Klatt on the TV table.

Karen Corr

Karen went 2-2 in the round robin and didn't make it to the Saturday round.

She went out in style at the 8:00 round tonight beating Johnny Archer 100-8

If someone would post a snapshot of the round-robin results for all 40 players and another of the single-elimination bracket, I would be grateful.

Thank you, terryhanna. Now, how about the group results (who beat whom and match scores for all 80 round-robin matches)?

It looks like 40 players were split into 5 seeding or skill classes (called A, B, C, D, and E), and then each of the 8 round-robin groups was formed using one player from each of the 5 classes. (I don't actually know if the seedings went all the way through all 40 players). But a few observations relative to the seedings:

• All 8 A players made it to the final 24, with 5 of the 8 finishing first in their groups.

• Only 4 of the 8 B's made it to the final 24. The ones who did not were Dechaine, Corr, Ekonomopoulos, and Wilkie.

• 7 of the 8 C's made it through; the one who did not was Walter.

• So, 19 of the 24 A's, B's, and C's made it through.

• The 5 other players who made it to the final 24 were 4 D's (Moore, Peach, Aarts, and Morgan) and 1 E (Duty).

[And, as is said, that's why they play the games. Or at least it's one reason.]
