You need to move to a more suitable environment :) Sounds like your cues are very Thirsty :)

I use acetone and a lint free cloth to wipe all the dust and oils off the wood. Well, good luck wiping all the oil from Cocobolo, Bocote, or Padauk.

Wait a couple of days to sand the CA finish.

Too much acetone wiping and you can wash out the wood and make it look dull and crappy under the finish.

I have only worked on my own cues, so probably about a dozen. In my limited experience, I have warped some of my cues with water. I tested the C. A. on a cheap piece of dowel because I don't want to warp any more of my cues. The dowel warped so i am not putting it on my cues.
That might have been the problem.
