Bob Vanover's son DRL world Champion

My late great friend Bob Vanover the 9 times Texas State Champions son Alex, just
won the Drone Racing League world championship in Phoenix. He is 19 years
old and has been competing all over the world for the last couple of years. He got
his airplane pilots licence when he was only 16.
His older brother Greyson was a regular on the Kids TV show
Barney and is now a tennis instructor. I'm sure Bob is looking down and is very
proud of his boys even though either one of them can play a lick of pool.

Greyson Vanover story

Quick story about one of Bob's boys. My wife, Bob, Cathy, Greyson and I went
to the Texas State Fair when Greyson was about 8-9 years old. He was small
for his age but real sharp and quick. We were looking in all the buildings and I thought
I was going to go nuts. I said come on Greyson lets go to Midway, we'll meet ya'll
at Big Tex at 4:00. We rode the rides until we threw up, and then decided to win
all the stuffed animals in the place. I was the stakehorse and every booth we passed
Greyson would yell I can win at this. We haven't won anything after an hour or
so and I say listen Greyson I'm going to have to stop the bleeding. I was like that
mouse I didn't want any cheese I just wanted out of that trap. It was $2.00 to try
for the big prize at most booths so I give him $1.00 and say you're an actor,
hang your head and say that's all you have. He turned it on, no problem kid take
a shot. We never won a thing but we got to play a LOT longer. He was such a fun
kid, he says I bet I can do this with 50 cents or a quarter even. No No and don't
say a word to Bob and Cathy they'll kill us. He never mentioned it until one night
we were out to dinner and he was in his early teens and told them how I had
corrupted him. Fun Times
