My brush with fame........

I got to see him live when he was working for Lite beer. The NCAA pool championships ( a club sport ) were held at the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota.
After the tournament , he put on an exhibition........needless to say , I was in awe of his cue ball control. He could bend that thing like there were rails on the table.
I got to speak with him afterward and he was as friendly and personable as a " normal " person. Understand , he was a celebrity and a magician with a cue to me. I probably shouldn't have expected him to act superior and in truth , I guess I didn't know what to expect.
I had him sign the red T shirt I was wearing and this amused him to no end.
Still have the shirt some 30 odd years later and the memories of what a class guy he was will stay with me forever too.
