Gold crown III carom corners

I just put back the cast aluminum corners for the first time.

After tightening all the connecting bolts, the corner bottoms are flushed with the rail bottoms. That made the top higher than the rail top almost 1/4”.

Is that by design, or something is wrong?

If not by design, how should it be installed?

Looks very bad.

Thank you

I ended up having to put some washers as shims underneath to pull it down.

It looks much better now but the contour of the aluminum corner and the rail is not 100% matching. So one side is flush, the other still sticks up a little.

You can place different thickness shims under the front-side and back-side of the casting ears. That will allow you to adjust the 'tilt' of the casting.

These photos are from the pool hall before it was taken down.

We ended up not doing the refinishing yet since the guys at our community center are more anxious to get it set up & play ASAP :)

As far as shimming the corners, I just put a washer right the middle at the bottom as written before to reduce it a bit.

When we have more time we will work on fine tuning the shimming with different thicknesses.

Thanks again.
