But, how bad would that player play without the glove?

Pro players use them because they feel it gives them a better advantage by having a consistent feeling with their bridge.

Is it unreasonable to suggest that even a not-so-good player have that same feeling?

I just don't get the criticism of any product a player, good or bad, chooses to use.

Remember....at one time or another you probably were a not-so-good player yourself.

Really??? Yet another condescending reference to a glove when a LOT of the pros are now using one?

Some people just can't let go......:scratchhead:

Anger and temper tantrum out bursts!!

Several years ago a customer playing Blackjack at the Riverside Casino in Tukwilla, WA lost a big bet to the dealer, and in doing so jumped up from the table and accused the dealer of cheating!!!! Security told him to go cool off outside the casino, so they walked him out. 30 minutes later, he came back, told the front door security people he'd cooled off, and was ready to go back to playing cards again, so they let him back in. He walked right up to the same Blackjack table, pulled out a .357 magnum revolver and put 3 slugs into the dealer, killing him where he sat before security could subdue him....it was later found out he'd lost his home mortgage payment, and was behind in his payments as it was.

What advice would all of you given him....don't gamble if you can't afford to lose????? It was found out later he had a history of temper problems and had been in and out of jail because of it!!!!
What advice would I have given him? Go into the woods and blow your own brains out. Seriously. Would suggest he get help. Find out why he hates his own life. Figure it out and change his lifestyle. Sad truth is some people are head cases ...always were and always will be.

He doesn't need second hand advice from a bunch of chuckleheads on an internet forum and I don't think anyone was offering actual advice. Post a funny pic and I wouldn't offer or expect anything other than funny(ish) answers.

IDK...but SVB wears a black one and Skyler a blue one. I could go on and on, but you already know that.

At what point will we just accept pool gloves? When a large majority of players are wearing them? That day isn't far off.

Now....back to the regular thread.

I could not care less about pool gloves, who wears them, what color they are, what others think of them or why they are even in this thread. Give me a good old fashioned talc cone (just not at home, those things are really messy around dark wood floors).

Great advice from everyone, only thing is....all of you are missing the fact that he clearly has anger issues, and they have nothing to do with playing pool, it just happens to be the outlet at the moment. What is this guy like behind the wheel of a car in rush hour traffic???

You are mistaken. Understandable given this picture, but not accurate. Have been very good friends with this guy for 30 years back. He is totally mild mannered and cool. I guarantee you even this was done not in front of anyone and not while flipping out. This guy just doesn’t do that. Again I understand the assumption.

He's just fooling himself, if he was officially done ,he would have broken the butt at the joint , not just snapped a shaft that probably had a swoop to it.

instead of playing you and losing have him play bad players and win. then he wont be aggravated.
i would be aggravated also if i lost all the time.

some people when frustrated have to take it out on someone or something.

Obviously a disturbed person, perhaps deeply disturbed.

Just look at that trunk.

Scary!

Tell him all cues matter, and taking the life of one is just wrong!

Oh and spend a lot of money on next cue he'll think twice before pulling that shananagans when his cue is worth 1k instead of 50 bucks!

I'd suggest he buy a carbon fiber shaft. When he snap it, the broken shards will probably be sharp enough for him to then slash his wrists...

Tell him to stick to $2 a game, and go home if / when he gets $20 down. Tell him to stick to that, until his game gets stronger.

Then when his game gets stronger, he can adjust those dollar amounts.

I can't imagine anyone breaking a decent cue over $20.

He and I are on different schedules, and never play each other. He generally practices alone.

Agree. Lol.

Tell him to carry a quiver full of 3/8 inch plain maple dowels. When he goes on tilt, just pull out one of those "anger arrows," break it, and continue on with his play/day. Much less expensive, and likely just as "therapeutic." ;)
