bar pool players/tournaments
and bar bangers are not one in the same
im playing all the bar tournaments i can in the last 2 weeks
getting alot of "lessons", enjoying it
played on diamond bar tables last night that were really nice,
there all kool people and good players,
one thing i noticed even with the good players, they often call really low percentage shots, the side pockets on valleys and diamond bar tables are tough
i won a game against a lady who beat me friday night, last night by hooking her good,
i saw someone really good, described to me as a 7 in 8ball and 9 in 9ball
i watched him run out several times with alot of work into it, he even drew the ticket for the 10ball pot, and came up blank on the break

the small tables are fun, i dont dislike the congestion as much as i thought
its easy to lose on them is the biggest thing i seen

im getting into a league team, next starts in a few weeks

Well, you're having fun, and that's the important part. Keep it up...no need to stop now. Bar table play is a total gas!

And, have fun in league play and keep it just that....fun.

i played 4 tournaments in the last 3 nights
probably gonna get out tonight again

the 1st one last night was over so fast for me i had time for a lesser level one
them dudes was all great bar players

Played my first 10ball bar tournament
Alot of fun although they said it was 9ball plus one
Not real 10ball

I dont care, was real fun looking forward to the league play in a few weeks

Glad to hear you are enjoying those bar tournaments and looking forward to league. As maniac suggested....enjoy league for what it is.

Got a question. Are these bar tournaments played by bar rules or ball in hand rules ?

Makes no difference in my opinion because the way I look at it is both players are playing by the same rules....just curious is all.

The last time i played in a bar tournament I won and went back the next week o ly to be told I was barred from playing in it again. Apparently I was too good in this tournament directors opinion and I am only an apa 5/6 lol. There are a couple other bar tournaments occasionally that in my opinion draw some good players but they both are on the same nights I have league.

there is a local "straight 8" tournament im pondering , i think it could be more trouble than fun once i start to play safe
but still kinda want to do it just for the experience


the guys whos team im joining thinks i played like a 5/6 on a 9fter
but its a different game on bar tables,
i can kick at almost anything however with ease on them

Bar box tourney's are fun and you never know what you're going to get. There's a shit hole bar down the street from my league bar and I heard they had a little Saturday tournament so I decided to play one night. I walked in and there was a handful of heavy hitters banging balls, that wasn't what I expected, lol. I've only played in it twice and haven't had much luck but it's only a race to 1 so anything can happen. Last Saturday I watched a pretty good player get his butt kicked by a drunk dude with a snooker cue. Was pretty funny.
