I agree with you.
I still think she did the moral thing if not the legal thing.

In my area, all schools are controlled and f-up by the county. It's a big county and one giant district. So, when someone is ASSIGNED a shitty school, yet pays taxes in that county, I've no issue them doing a little car pooling to get their kid a better education.
Every kid DESERVES a good education.
Plus, parents that go to the effort of making sure their kids go to a school of their choosing are more involved with their kid's education. We need parents and kids like that.
This district has a lottery for charter schools. How shitty is that? Basically a roll of the dice to see if your kid gets a good school or not.

Everyone could have a good school but that would be socialist!

You would be lenin or Stalin!

Suggest that the tax cuts for the rich be rescinded ! Maybe revisit farm subsidies...

But wait for it, the tax payer does not want to pay for it! They are ok paying for Trump hotel stays. Just not educating children....

Somehow this rational thought does not reconcile with the school "busing" programs which transported children to schools in different districts in order to achieve "equality". Just another example of "the inmates running the asylum".

How much should a good school cost?
Show me a crappy school and I'll show you how tax payers are forking-over about 10K/year/student for that school.
It's not about the money. In my district, money is spent evenly, but still there are good schools and bad schools. How could that be possible if it was just money?

Didn't tax payers in Portland spend $3,000,000 extra to keep Antifa from going berserk? It's irrelevant to our discussion, but so is a Trump hotel and farm subsidies. ???

Not so! Zoning laws mandate how resources are allocated! Beverly hills gets more money than Compton!

Making a analogy is appropriate given the lack of complaints about Trump Hotel cost to taxpayers and the extraordinary cost of farm subsidies. All spent and could be better used toward education of children....

Zoning laws dictate land use not resource allocation. Beverly Hills residents also pay a lot more taxes than Compton residents do, they deserve more. Where would you invest?

You love giving (throwing) away other people's money to mostly undeserving people.

Zoning laws? What?

Do you know where money for schools comes from and who decides where it goes?
Beverly Hills doesn't GET more money for schools, they SPEND more money for schools. Compton could choose to spend on education. They do not. If you live in a place that doesn't value schools, consider moving to a place that does.
Compton spends over 10K/student/year. You don't think a good school could be run on that? I can show dozens or hundreds of schools that educate children on less money than Compton does and they are fine schools comparatively speaking.

What is so hard to understand...

Separate is not equal!

Low income housing is zoned far from the rich! Just like prisons, landfills and nuclear power plants....

After correcting for generations of inequality! You provide equal funding and let the chips fall where they may. But, we all know that is not the case. Sadly ...

That anger you carry around can't be healthy.
Life is more fair for you and your family and for every citizen in this country than it has been in all of human history, yet you complain you aren't getting your fair share because someone else might be getting more. That's a terrible outlook on life.
