DCC Under 21 UPDATE.... - 12-02-2019, 01:18 PM

DCC just announced on their FB page that you will have to be 21yrs or older to attend. They thought they'd get a permit during the event but that hasn't panned out.

I didn't understand why this was a problem until I realized that because of the move away from the boat to a land based casino the rules changed for who is allowed in the venue. Apparently even the meeting spaces require you to be 21 according to the Indiana Gaming Commission. None of that is the fault of the DCC, but it's a really dumb rule.

Great, two of the world's top 20 players -- Kaçi and Gorst -- can't get in. Actually, it looks like Kaçi will be old enough on the last 4 days.

[And if you count Zheng, it's 3.]

Damn shame Filler is over 21 now, even if he doesn't act like it.

US pool player Chris Robinson might be right around 21 now¿

Shame that Kaci and Gorst isn't in it. Both are strong contenders on the bigfoot challenge too.

Yes, Gorst was 2nd in the Bigfoot at age 17 and 3rd at age 18. Now, at 19, he can't play.

Its a Indiana gaming commission rule. You can bet they'll be checking them. The casino isn't going to risk their license for a pool tournament. Does suck tho.

Probably won’t risk their gaming license on pool players gambling there either, lol.

Indiana gaming law....might be a loop hole.
Minimum age to work at a casino is 18....but can’t be in the gaming area.

That is open to interpretation.....he’s working as a professional pool player.

If a snooker player or musician goes to Britain, he doesn’t have to get a work permit..
...they go under something called the visiting sportsman act...I payed taxes....
...but no extra paperwork to get in.

The USA must have some accommodations for people in the same boat.
