Hello,
This table is being sold near me as a GC, I have no idea which GC it is or how to identify them. Is there anything to lookout for while checking it out? Is it plausible to move it myself? Or is it better to hire a company to do it? Do they all need new cloth after being moved?
Thank you in advance
Matt

First off if you are trying to ID as a 1, 2, 3, or 4 normally there is a Tag on the Bottom somewhere with ID & Serial Number, as far as move hire a person who moves Pool Tables professionally. Cheap then costly misadventure IMHO.

Hire a pro. The slates are screwed on to the frame and to the liner.
The slates are also pinned together. There is the right way to pull them apart.
I've seen them cracked .

That looks like a GC2 but the top rails were black stained somehow.

Shiny finish black rails. Most likely a 3. Not a 4 as they have flush pockets. Pretty sure 1's and 2's weren't available in shiny black.

First, the OP made started two threads on this table. In the other thread Geoff Bradshaw correctly identified this as an early Gold Crown I. Rather than repeat his words here, I recommend you reference the other thread.

Second, the pictures are a bit dark which gives the impression the rails are black but they are not.
