May the 8 weeks fly...

Amen.

My radiation oncologist said today "Everything looks great. But, you have a hefty-sized crater at the back of your throat... it might take 6 months to heal."

I said, ""What do *I* care, Doc... I got the rest of my life."

You could see his eyes first, almost luminescent through the smoky haze of the room. From the shadowy corner at the back of the booth, the voice came, quiet, but clear.

"Yeah... I dodge bullets... it's what I do."

Thanks KC!

They pumped Cisplatin into my bloodstream for 6 weeks, the active ingredient of which is Platinum. As in "heavy metal". As in mom saying "If the thermometer breaks, NEVER TOUCH the silvery stuff ( mercury )! IT WILL *KILL** YOU!!!" heavy metal.

So yeah... luminescent fits. To A *T*.

What is the first thing you really look forward to eating?

Easy... home-made reallllyyyyyyyyyy fatty BBQ pork ribs, boneless.

Here the recipe:

2 lbs ( 4 ribs ) fatty boneless pork country-style ribs.

Cover lightly, all sides, with Cyan pepper.

Squeeze ( sparingly ) pancake syrup over the tops of each rib.

Sprinkle each liberally in Cajun spices.

Very sparingly sprinkle chili powder over each.

Dust with table salt.

Lightly cover each with Light Brown Sugar.

VERY LIGHTLY dust each with Garlic Salt.

Dust tops of each with Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs.

Into oven at 270 for 15 minutes.

Remove.

Add HUGE AMOUNT of ( pick yer brand ) of BBQ sauce, so all ribs are entirely covered.

Return to oven for 15 minutes.

Remove. Dust LIGHTLY tops of each with Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs.

Return to oven for 30 minutes.

Serve with piping hot baked potatoes, smothered in real butter, salt and pepper, fresh corn on the cob. Fresh Broccoli. Sweet Iced Tea.

Home-made spice cake with creme-cheese frosting for desert is NOT optional!

There... that.
