Schon Box Cue by Bob Runde
This cue dates to the mid-80’s and was a custom order made by Bob Runde at Schon
The butt weighs
Four boxes with ivory inlays on the lower part of the butt in two different styles
Four boxes on the forearm in two different styles
28 total inlays of an ivory colored material
Two original shafts with dashes and red “rings” that match the butt. One shaft has a micarta Ferrule at 12.6 mm, the other is …..
Both shafts are really grungy, especially around the pilots.

Talked to Bob Runde:

He confirmed that this was one of 5-6 of this type he made in the mid 1980’s while he was at Schon
He also confirmed that he did make a cue like this one for a jeweler in California, but didn’t remember who it was exactly. He did recall that the cue was later sold to Jackie Gleason and Bob Hope’s wife as a birthday present for Bob Hope. No way to prove that thisis the same cue, but Runde did say that only 2-3 of these cues went to California.
The Story: I got this cue from a local player/gambler known as Phil the Broker when Phil needed some quick money due to an impending divorce. Phil insisted that the cue had been a custom order by a jeweler and that the “links” inlays were supposed to represent the gold links in a fancy chain. Whether or not that is accurate, I have no way of knowing.

The cue does have a wonderful Art Deco look to it and the workmanship is amazing. This is one of a kind and made before makers really started commercializing “One of One” type work.

Flaws:
- One shaft apparently has a replaced ferrule
- Very slight roll to the nose
- Light scratch to the forearm about 4 inches long, but not deep.

If you are interested, make me an offer. Lowballs will get no response.

You will be money ahead if you post a price with an OBO. How the heck does one know what a lowball offer without know your asking price????

Better pictures of your cue will also help your cause. Most buyers here are super picky and will not offer up funds unless they have good detailed pictures to view.

So, a few questions to answer and info to include:

What are the individual weights of the butt, shaft 1, shaft 2?
What are the tip diameters of each shaft and length of each shaft?
Is the joint brass or stainless steel? Looks bass in your pictures.
About how much and where is the roll in the butt? Some butts roll at the butt cap, some roll in the handle area, and, some roll in the forearm.
Is the cue ebony or stained birds eye maple?
