Most annoying spider in the world: the Valley Spider. It sustains mainly on chalk.

If i had a dollar for every time i've had a ball stuck in a Valley barbox i'd be drivin a Ferrari. Newer ones are ok but the older ones sucked.
The spider is a kind of mechanical bridge not often seen in the US:

Although for pool, the "swan's neck" is often more useful.

I think the swan's neck (on the left) would be the tool of choice in a pool hall fight. Assuming you had already thrown the available balls.

The X rest comes in handy on ranches at certain times of year.
I hate using the X rest at snooker...it messes up my aim.
