Warped cue

A customer came in with a warped cue yesterday. The shaft and butt rolled straight when they are apart, but wobbled a lot when together. The pin( 5/16-18) was straight.
Could the two facings be culprit?
Thanks,
Jon

Jonathan, I highly suggest putting a dial indicator on everything, joint area, a joint, handle and butt cap. I'd even run it on both joint faces (shaft and butt). And of course, run it on the joint pin. Take careful measurements and write down how off your areas are. Rolling a cue on the table tells you some things but there is usually more to the story. The dial indicator will help you. Hopefully its a quick facing of the joint and your done...good luck.

Also roll it on different areas of table , and put it on rail and roll ,then clean inside of shaft insert and finally face off...

If all is straight on exterior of cue and the pin is straight, the hole in the shaft could be what is off...

If the joint pin isn't bent check make sure it
wasn't installed on a slight angle and possibly facing could be off too.
