Never Played Pool Like This Before!

So, I had the opportunity to play some pool at an exclusive club in Denver. The tables were old Brunswick 10 foot tables. The object balls were standard (2.25in) size, however all of them were red. Many of the house cues on the wall were Willie Hoppe Titleists!
The game advertised was a game I never heard of. Each pocket was worth a certain amount of points ranging from 1 to 20 points. The object of the game is to reach 300 points.
It was a very fun experience. Playing one pocket was fun and challenging on those tables also.

Well, it's a private club called the University Club est. 1891. You will have to be a member or be invited and escorted by one.

Now that's one heck of a place to be invited to. Heard a story about it but never saw it until now. Thanks for the pics. Lucky guy! Only place I ever played on a 10 footer in Colorado was at The mirage in Littleton and I think it was a Gandy.

Good shooting! Thanks for sharing this gem.

I live in Denver and I have heard of this club but never knew they had a room like this.
By the way your stance at the table is very good. I bet you can play a little.
How many gems like this are scattered about the country.
One little gem i know about but it is not on this scale is a bar on Broadway here in Denver that has a small pool room upstairs. I was there once and was amazed to find a mint condition 9 foot Brunswick Anniversary table.

I wonder if they bought these tables together in the 40's or 50's.
I also wonder what might of been there before the ten footers. Thanks for the thread and the pics. I found the website for the club but not much info on the pool room, maybe thats why it is so elusive to us in the area.
