Thank you for doing this!

I think this is the only stat that matters. Shaw was close to SVB in the B&R category. Anyone under 40% need not apply.

Chang was under 40% in their match 6 months ago (37% to SVB's 48%) and still won.

generally

Chang was under 40% in their match 6 months ago (37% to SVB's 48%) and still won.

I was speaking in general terms. Chang is an exceptional player that was close to 40% and won in a race to 50.

I'm not suggesting that he wouldn't win in a longer set, simply that I'd expect his run out percentage to creep up a little.

Could be. The numbers there were still pretty small (49 breaks for Chang, 44 for SVB). And a referee racked that match (using an Accu-Rack template, as in this current match).

I probably don't have info on a lot of tournament matches involving Chang, but maybe I'll see what I can find.

I never miss an opportunity to read your post and I share them with those that don't have a chance to. Your details are world class and only deal with the facts. What you
do improves the AZB form and is what our sport should be about. You are a class act!

Thanks for doing what you do!

I found one stat very interesting. After over 200 games, not one ten ball was made on the break! So someone tell me again why the ten ball shouldn't count if made on the break. But the nine ball does count.

Good point. I've never seen it made on the break.

Stats are incredible - thanks!

No idea what this means: "- early combos or caroms on the 10-ball are not game wins, and the 10-ball is spotted"

What is "early", lol? Seems like an odd definitional distinction, not that they can't agree on pretty much whatever they want.

And just out of curiosity, is a stat ever kept for how often after a played safety the other player ends up making a legal ball?

Basically they played the 10 ball had to be the last ball made.

Why? Because your dealing with ''Pool Players''. Cats have a hard time changing their stripes.:p

What he said makes absolute perfect sense and perfect logic......................(that's why the 'pool big shots' don't do it)
Go figure...

This is now a rule in the World Standardized Rules. I didn't like it at first but I think it fits with the idea of reducing the luck factor in 10 ball vs. 9 ball. It is interesting that two pretty good players chose this for a long match.
