Looking at North America and knowing that we will soon see many events going to an invitational I was trying to put together a list of available talent on North American soil that could be on the list of the possible professional players going forward who could vie for representing sponsors and the USA in the Mosconi cup if they let us draft from Canada and don't replace us with Asia.....

I know I am missing some players... There are 2 out of the Minnesota Area that are under 25 and did well at the Open in the last few years.. One of them was dating Kathryn Fairchild for awhile..Her name I remember because she played a match in the Open wearing what I can only assume were magical jeans... I say this because I noted them as I walked past and was hypnotized into almost walking over the end rail when the bleachers ended .....

Just trying to look at the future of the game and I see lots of young talent coming up when we all consider the game to be dying......

Who else do you add to the list if you are going to create the professional ranks and present an image that can be peddled to sponsors?

Gambling may have to go if a pro invitational tour list is compiled so some of these guys will likely be unwilling to get out of any action unless the new body approves the match and it is high profile and streamed.. Gotta do a makeover on the image as priority number 1 if we want sponsors...

How do you have Adam Smith under "image issues"? And, you left out Johnny Archers name for that category. And, what about the Dominquez's.

Yes, what is meant by "image issues?"

I like Adam and would love to move him off that list but someone had mentioned he had stabbed someone in a pool room altercation and was awaiting trial... If that was cleared up I'd love to know....

Adding Jeremy and Jesse... I had Oscar on the list but not his dad and will look into Thorpe and Mastermaker as being included vs just regional shortstop speed...

I can't find anything on the net about it. However, it was two years ago, and he is still out and about playing in various states. If he still had anything pending against him, I don't think he would be out traveling publicly. So, my GUESS would be- self defense.

Gabe was on the run over counterfeit gold and silver coins.. Was on the most wanted list.. No idea if they have caught up to him yet but it's definitely going to be federal...

Charlie's issue may not be bad enough to keep him on that section of the list as they are mainly allegations about conduct towards female players and hotel incidents... These go back awhile so I don't know if prosecution was involved or not....

Scott played at the Open and finished up at Bonus Ball but I was under the impression that he was going to school to start dealing cards... He was sick at the US Open with some severe dental issues so I didn't get to talk to him about much of anything except to check in on how he was feeling as they started working on him....

Thanks!

Scott is back, I think he picked up a sponsor? Gabe is in Houston TX, not looking so good, but I wasn't sure what the deal was, not looking healthy.

Hope Charlie clears up those issues, he has a good game and could be a good rep.

I think Mike Davis would play if there was more money around?

What about Hill Billy??

Mastermaker just played Travis stamper here after a tournament,
Broke even after 6 hours playing even.
If Travis were to start playing full time you could add him to the list
His B game was enough for Mastermaker

To the best of my knowledge the issue with adam has been cleared up. I spoke briefly to the other involved a while back and he said that it had been resolved and both have moved on

Thanks James... I love Tony to death but he is a transplant so unless he has gotten his US Citizenship I won't be adding him... Anthony I am unfamiliar with but Adam and Stoney are definitely up and coming.. Wondering how they match up with some of the other young guns on the list... Donny I am adding immediately

No disrespect... but who are you and how were you appointed to pick what players will play in invitationals?

I don't understand the point of this list and putting different colored hats on people,.

Simple point... Trying to come up with a list for invitationals based upon North American Players Only.....

This would be a list of what would be considered professional speed players who could be possibly groomed and managed into an actual product/tour...

I could care less if the best player in North America was on the list if they are a convicted felon, has a history of behavioral problems or are otherwise not good for approaching sponsors with because of image problems..

I would have no problem moving a person from the retired to active list if they suddenly start going out to events again or state they would be willing to be part of a tour.....

At this point sure this is the cart before the horse but getting it out on paper lets us see what kind of talent pool could be drawn from if someone wanted to try and do smaller 16-32 man invitationals at 6-8 a year....

Invitationals mean fewer players smaller venues but more opportunity for chasing sponsors and marketing the product....

A list means the players could partner up to help cover expenses because they know who they are going to be seeing every stop.....

The next step would be to identify the Regions where events could be held... Europe has a definite advantage in Logistics because of the size.. Traveling between countries is similar to hopping states except 1500 miles will get you from the UK to Bosnia... 1500 miles will get you from Florida all the way up the east coast.... When Oscar comes to Chesapeak from LA it's 2700 miles.....

Maybe getting an idea of where the players reside would be in order... I'll amend my list for locations and see what that shows...
