First Custom Cue Questions

I am looking into having my first custom cue built. Currently I shoot mainly with a Predator and a Schon. I saw some of Curtis Robertson's work at SBE this year and am considering having him build me a cue despite the lack of info I can find on him online. I have a few questions though. What is the best joint so to speak that I should have him use? Also I am looking into having him use black and white ebony wood as the base of the cue, how does that hit? Also any other pertinent info or suggestions for a first time custom cue buyer would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You should be asking these questions of the builder.
Why would you rely on the info provided by 164 people that you don't know???

Maybe if a Cue Maker would be kind enough to answer his questions he would change cue makers?

best thing is talk to curtis. talk to him about construction and materials to use. he should be able to giude you. there are lots of different ways to build so there is no easy answer as to what woods will "hit good".

i am not sure you got a straight answer
possibly because there is no correct one for everybody

my advice would be to hit a bunch of cues and see which one you like best
then either buy it or one like it

if you are asking which woods to choose

most players and cue makers use ebony butts and maple fronts

if joint is your question, try a few

not knowing these yourself, why buy a custom cue in the first place

just hit one till you find it

best of luck
