I hear that he left.
Does anyone know who the master cue maker is now/

Also anyone know where john and evan are today?

Don't know about John but I think Evan has pretty much retired from cue work. He was doing wraps and some refinishing when he was in Winona, MN but then moved out of the country to Columbia and got married.

Dean, if your talking to Schon, please throw in my name for the new master cuemaker.

Greatly appreciated in advance

John is not with Schon. They have a very competent cue maker that has worked for Schon for many years. It is the management that concerns me. Jury is out we have to give them there chance to run or fail. That is all I am going to say.

What's with all the secrecy/privacy stuff?? Seriously, we're talkin about pool cues not nuclear weapons. If the guy's gone, he's gone and someone new is doing his job. I agree with previous poster about their designs. Some of their more recent designs have been hideous imo.

in my opinion Schon has produced some of the best cues ever in the past

they have a place in the history of our sport second to none

let's hope that they continue in that way

at present Bob Runde is making a few cues for me,but he is older than I am
and only makes one cue at a time as he feels like it

i would encourage anyone who wants to have a rel piece of history to
oder one of his cues while you can still get them

he still makes cues the old fashion way with sharp points and does great work
including choice of woods and workmanship

No big secret. The son of the co-founder of Schon has been running things. He has been involved with Schon custom cues for decades.

Schon has always been one of my dream cues. However if that is what they are turning out now, I guess I will never have one. Wow are those some ugly cues. I agree, they look like McDermotts.

Back in the late 90’s Schon made some very beautiful, old school style cues.

In fact I owned one and it was a very pretty, solid hitting cue. And their tips, single layer, were the nuts.
