Tascarella has arrived !!!! I think it is one of the best looking Tascs I have ever seen. The colors pop so much and it is so elegant. Not plain or too fancy. Workmanship is perfect.
It is Brazilian Rosewood and Straight maple, with black orange yellow natural veneers.
Single bushka ring with white instead of silver rings top and bottom(I think I prefer the single bushka ring look to rings everywhere especially with linen) Veneer rings at joint collars. No metal in cue, where finished, which was important to me.
Tiffany diamond in points and curved diamonds in butt. Slightly larger than normal.
The pics make the BRW look darker than it really is. It is more a chocolate color. Nice figure in the butt sleeve under light, but doesn't really show in pics.
Pete Sr. did some special things in terms of specs for this cue.
The woods were chosen to provide an overall weight of 18oz. On Pete's scale, the butt measures 14.2 and 3.8 for each shaft.
Butt is much thinner than normal for a Tasc, at 1.21 at bottom of wrap and 1.25 at end of Delrin.
Shafts are 12.5mm, and both 3.8oz. Impressive to get shafts that match so closely. Has been my experience you usually see a .1 or .2oz difference. Shaft wood is exceptional and has that slightly yellow tint which I have found in my experience usually means it is better shaft wood.
I am naming it "Flaming Toothpick".
Haven't hit with it yet but Pete Sr. said it hit so well he's considering a lighter cue. Will add a comment on hit later.
