Can we bet on who will be number 1 by the end of next year?

I think it will be John Schmidt?

j/k, his runs although momentarily sickening serve as motivation to continue improving to be the best I can be.

Hhhmmmmm I think I'll have to take part in this. I am chomping at the bit to break 100 this year.

Make the challenge a Sticky !

I am setting my run goal on a 210 for 2010, it is gonna be a tall order since i have yet to break the 150 mark. If i dont do it this year i will have to set it at 211 for 2011.

good luck everyone, i am heading out today to try to put up an early number to get everyone started.

I haven't played 14-1 at all in 2009, but I have decided to play pool for 40 hours the next 12 days, before heading to DCC.

As part of my practice schedule I've decided to do 5 tries of straight pool each day, as warm up before I start with my drills and sessions against the ghost (9-ball). I had a 28 today as my highest.

Ditto. I am also chomping at the bit to hit 100 this year. I'll also post runs on here this year as well.

Maybe the time difference isn't always too bad. I think I had a head start :) and got a 32 today! Still trying to get my age though!

Well, I get to be at the top of the list for 2010 (briefly). I had a 56 today, ended by cutting an 80-degree cut shot for the break 84 degrees. The run was memorable because the table attacked me. The second break shot had the cue ball at about the center spot. That put my grip hand over the middle of the head cushion, right where the manufacturers raised, sharp metal nameplate is located. One of many design blunders in that particular brand of table. I retaliated by bleeding on the table.

Hope i ll win over my cam in the next time, lol- cam runnin presenting me to play a bit more concentrated- it s funny :)
Yesterday and today was able to play first time again after 3-4 weeks- ellbow still not 100 % - but i wasn t able to wait more time.....was close to build pockets into the dinner-table. Wife s lucky i didn t do so ^^

Today played about 3 hours straight-pool (but solo)
several *2 rack innings(about 25-28 or so).
then one 44 and one 58. I m happy- not the runs like Stevekur1- but getting really satisfied that it begins to get better since i started *comeback*(what a big word, rofl).
Hope to capture a run next times.

Put Schmidt up for a 226. His cat climbed into the side pocket of his Diamond table and ended up in the ball tray. He missed his next shot. Maybe the cat kept him from running 527. LOL

dogged it.

first off i want to say i think its great that all you guys on here try 14.1 .
honestly im jealous of the fact that in the old days the pros would come in and try too run a hundred and people would set and watch. the spectators would be appreciative of the skill and how tough the game is etc.
where i live nobody understands the game and if i walked in and ran 690 on the first try ,they would have no idea why i keep leaving the last ball out of the rack etc lol.

anyway i wish i could have everybody on this 14.1 forum come to a poolroom with a perfect playing loose table ,i would get a kick out of practicing in front of all you guys and trying to break mosconies record.
it would be very inspiring for me to try to do massive runs with a group like you people who know what your looking at .

about the 226 ,believe it or not i ran 172 3 days ago and tried 2 more innings with nothing to brag about.
today the 226 was on second try, 42 scratch ,226 miss.

so within 5 tries 172,226 on diamond ,im playing as good as ever .im happy about it because after the arm break i wasnt sure if id ever run 50 again.

you guys keep up the good runs im pulling for you,and marop is gonna get that hundred soon i know it.

p.s. at 197 i overcut break ball and it rattled but cb came off rack and knocked it it. so really the run should have ended at 196 but oh well ive had enough bad rolls a good rolls allright sometimes. also the cat sharked me crawling through the table lol.

Nice start Michael. Glad to hear you back again. I may try a little tomorrow.

Maybe you'll do it on the Diamond at Derby for us later this month.

Great Shooting! You are certainly back from your injury, Baby.

That sounds like one of my break shots. :grin-square:
