After 11 years and running the full spectrum from dropping down to a SL3, I finally achieved SL7.

Now my team is just about points out... Yay me... :(

Haha! JJ, I've done the whole sandbagging thing when I first started( I was told this is the way it goes), won some trophies and even won a trip to Vegas: In the end, it just wasn't worth it. As you know I'm not afraid to lose a few bucks to play some good competition and try and improve my game. League just doesn't do that for me anymore. If you really want to go to Vegas in August( who the hell does??!!) buy your own damn plane ticket and split a cheap room.

The league is the trap I was referring to PA. We'll start doing some drills soon and you will be 6 speed in no time. BTW, you need to learn to negotiate a spot!

Congrats. It does sting a little when your team hardly ever can play you anymore
(especially in 9b once you hit 9) but I love to come out and socialize and practice a little.
You'll probably become The Coach if you aren't already.

I know a lot of players would laugh at this and the sad 'ego' it shows, but one of the small
satisfactions in life is when some apa player from another town asks you what your rank is
and you can smugly say "oh I'm a 7 (or 9)" and they're all "Waohoaaohahhhh".

They may not make that exact sound. Actually that sound is probably just in my head

Congrats on the accomplishment. It seems the more we move up the less we are rewarded with the 23 rule in APA. When I moved to an 8 in 9ball I missed the last LTC we qualified for because we couldn't make the numbers. That was a very frustrating and helpless feeling. Congrats, I made 8! have a seat....I'm a 7 in 9ball again and in 8ball. Thankfully my team situation allows me to play every week in both now...sadly neither team is qualified for anything at the moment! LOL.

Hope your team can get the numbers straight!! Congrats again!

Now, time to go for your 9.. well, I guess, that's if you play APA 9b.

I haven't played league 9 ball in 3 years. I am currently ranked SL7 and would like to achieve SL9. Unfortunately league 9 ball play is on Sunday, and I'm just not willing to break up my weekend for league.

Way to go Brian! I guess that bit of time together last May helped, huh? LOL Keep up the good work!

Scott, any and every time you are gracious enough to work with me it helps greatly.

Thanks everybody for the well wishes. I hope we can get the numbers where it'll work.

Nice work.

To be honest though I thought you were going to post that someone finally called you a sandbagger! :D

Congrats sir, welcome to club '7'...now you get to spot almost everyone games. Nothing like playing 3s that shoot like 5s and 5s that shoot borderline 7ish...can be tough to fade but is a fun challenge to overcome. Oh....and occasionally you will find that higher handicaps have duck for dinner...seemed to happen to me a lot :D

Congrats Not that many people work up through the ranks to be 7/9 IMO..
I started out higher than a 4 in both 8 and 9 and I think many 7/9s did as well.
