The joint of the butt appears to be piloted stainless steel, but the shaft is flat faced, though they appear to match perfectly.
Just odd that the shaft does not have a pilot on it, unless that is just an illusion that the butt has a piloted joint?
That is odd. I'm pretty sure the only line of Vikings with a piloted joint is the super joint.

I should have said that it appears to be a Piloted Brass joint, not SS. The only point I was trying to make though, is that the joint collar on the butt appears to be piloted, but the shaft does not have a pilot on it.
Although it might not be a high dollar value cue, it's a nice old school Mali. And, there are some Mali collectors out there.
