Find a nice used McDermott.

As far as looking at cheap butts to go to the bar...wait, what? Did you spend a few hundred on a CF shaft for bar pool, and you think it won't get stolen because the butt is cheap?

IDK anything about them, but it's nice-looking. You might also consider the 1811 cues at Seybert's. They're essentially an inexpensive butt w/ higher-end shaft, which sounds like what you want.

I second the buying a used McDermott. I have also seen a shop on eBay that sells McDermott butts without the shaft for like $150.

Same quality as the Players cues and such. Looks nice, good match for a black shaft.

I use a McDermott Lucky cue with a cheap shaft for travel. Any cheaper LD shaft will be fine, playing in bars does not need a $4-500 shaft if you are worrying about it being stolen.
