This was the guy !!

A while back I had put up a post, looking for footage of a tape that was made by Pete "100 balls in 15 minutes".

I remember buying this tape when Pete sold this tape here on long island, I had heard many a story about Pete in my room from alot of regulars at that time. But never had the opertunity to see him in person, which is strange because he is right in my area.

I am not sure where he is now, or if he even still plays. I will have to do some research on this one.

Welcome. I wasn't that interested in watching this since I hadn't heard of this guy, but I figure what the hell. Glad I did, it's entertaining stuff. He does have a pure stroke. Really nice pace too. Through the first rack in about 2 minutes and everything looked easy and everything seemed to go according to plan.

I was wondering if this guy shoots fast because he has a massive straight pool supercomputer upstairs or if he's just one of those sick shotmakers who doesn't really need to spend much time analyzing cuz he knows he'll just drill every shot anyway. Maybe a little more of the latter, he gets a little wild at the start of the second rack.

Anyway, nice find.

Would like to see more of him. Wonder if he played pro nine ball or just stuck to straight pool.

Thanks for the welcome, guys.

I suck, but for the more knowlegeble members, did it seem like he was going kinda fast?

I suck, too, but yes, he shoots very quickly.

My wife watches me struggle, and she said it's like a walk in the park for this guy.

That guy is a bad man! Thanks for posting it. Some of his patterns seemed a little different, but he sure got out of them good. That might be the fastest pace I've ever seen at straight pool.

No listing for Peter Fisher in the AZB Player Finder.

Can anyone fill in some of the blanks about his pool history? With that kind of skill in 1996, clearly he did a lot of playing before that. Was/is he a tournament player? Gambler? What games? What successes? Is he still playing or did he quit for some reason?

Just spoke with Charlie Lentini who did the commentary on the video, he said that Pete now resides in Florida and is a blackjack dealer on a casino boat

So I guess his 14.1 days are over !!

There was a comment on youtube, something like "too bad you don't play poker as good as you shoot pool" ...sounds like a person who might know Peter personally. Maybe someone with a youtube account can find a way to send that commenter a message and ask for details on how he finally settled on cards instead of pool.

i'm watching his vids and have only downloaded the first two. the first thing i noticed is that his shot-making is extraordinary. the speed and ease with which he runs the table is impressive. having said this, he takes a LOT of chances and gets a bit reckless only to be saved by his super stroke. case in point in the pic. he's got a longish shot on a gimmie in the corner and uses it to go off the rail and into the pack almost ending his run in the 40's? or so.... if this was his intention he should have eased-in the prior shot to give him a tad more angle. but now, with a delicate, thick hit and a little right english he could have gotten on one of the two balls below the rack which is what i would have tried to do. herein lies the difference between a very very good player and truly great players like schmidt, archer, lane, mizerak et.... having said this, he looks like his just playing around and he might tighten up a bit in a tournament or money game. either way, i wouldn't want to be forced to play him to save my life.

I thought the same at that particular shot !

Pete was quite a player when it came to tourneys and mostly money games. only you wouldnt want to be the one at the table that he was gambling with.... from what i have heard pete was a very arrogent, and a loose cannon.. they did say that as he matured he did become a much nicer guy with a monster stroke.

maybe he switched to cards because "If Everyones doing it, Everyones Doin It " !!!!!
