It's funny you mention that lol... was just asking my wife about that as I pulled out the patches I had. I have all of those except the 9 ball break and run patch (intentionally of course) since I am trying to remain a 7. Maybe tonight I will get that one. One other patch she mentioned was a skunk patch for 9 ball (20-0). Besides that patch, I think that's all of them unless you are a low enough handicap to get the "I beat a 7" patch :). I had a 3 point break last week but nothing higher. I am slamming the #^$& out of the balls tonight though since I am 3-5 in 9 ball lol.

Haha....well I don't want to screw our team over by moving up to an 8 or 9...plus you need to make either 65 or 75 balls which is tough to fade vs all the other sandbaggers.

I started doing it this year because I'm going to Nationals and I don't want to waste the trip. I have mild social anxiety disorder which amounts to being very VERY uncomfortable around people I don't know. Which means I play like shit against people I've never met.

So, I jumped into local area tournaments to try to get over that.

The first one was an 8-ball barbox tourney and I thought, "well, I can get out on a barbox if I take my time..." I didn't get in the money but got far enough that people who knew me were complimenting me. :) It was also kind of fun/gratifying to play decently while my heart was trying to pound its way out of my chest.

So this weekend is barbox 10-ball which is one of the events I'm playing at Nationals so it will be a good experience to jump in and get beat up a little. :)

I found out why our LO doesn't give out patches so often. He never makes us pay for them, so the cost comes out of their pocket. Instead of giving me 30 8 on the break patches, he just gives out one to that player each session.

Apparently I qualify for both 8-ball & 9-ball mini slam patches as well as a Grand Slam patch! lol

Interesting that they have to pay for them. I'd just assume not keep getting the stupid things for every 8 on the break I make. I'd just assume see the 8 get spotted off the break anyway.

What is the one on the right for, beating a 7 as a lower handicap I assume? I don't care about patches unless one day I plan on getting a denim jacket and having them stitched on there walking into league like a redneck badass...probably not happening though :)

The patches on the right are for 8-ball SL7's with the session dates.

I'll wear this if I ever go to Derby or SBE.

I have well over 100 patches sitting in a plastic bag in my closet. No clue what to do with them.

Played pretty bad last night. Got 46 points out of 50 in BCA 8 ball. Pure winning ugly. Hopefully I play well during State next week.

i am from a small town with no pool hall i have to drive 40 mins to play in the leauge . i was practicing with a strong player who always finished first or second in the league i asked him if i could play on his team this year. he said yes i was pumped i came up with the name for the team my user name ..lol a week before league was suppose to start he says i cant play for his team because the league operator stated there cant be 3 A level players on one team . so he keeps the name i came up with and says that the other a players are stronger lol nice guy. any way i edged him out to come second overall and his other A player didnt finish close to the top ten .both of them have shitty additudes so much ego no humility the game for me is about being humble and dedication .am i pissed when i lose .. yeah but i get over it .its a game of self improvement .cocky old stubborn league players i am gunning for yeah lol

They also have versions of most of them for regional and national tournaments. I have a few rackless HLT patches (High Level Tournament, i.e. regionals), and an 8 on the break and 8 ball break and run from Vegas. The HLT's look the same, but say HLT on them, and the nationals are different colors. I think the year I was there they were light blue instead of white.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and they have patches for long term players - I just got a "500 matches played" a couple of weeks ago.

Played masters last night.. twice. The first match I started down 2-3 in 8b, so I was getting a little worried after my off-on performance on Tuesday night. I ended up shooting well in 9b and took it 7-4. Next match, I was starting to shoot well. Not sure if my mind was just preoccupied with other things, but the less I thought about even 8b, the better I played. I thought it had only been 2 or 3 games, but 5 went by real quick and we moved on to 9b, which lasted only a couple of games and ended up in a 7-0 skunk.

As for the patches.. I told my LO that I'd pack up what regular patches I could find and would get them back to her. I keep a small pile of the special ones.. MVP, Top Gun, 7, nationals, etc.

Does anyone actually use the patches for what they're intended for? I know I don't. Seems to me that most just accumulate them in a drawer except for Dave's friend there that he posted a pic of. :D Perhaps they need to find a better way of acknowledging the accomplishments. Stickers, free tips, tools or something.
