They have MVP for your league? Interesting...I don't think we have that in ours. I would think I would get consideration for it 9-2 with 53 points for top gun, but who knows. It wasn't a stellar session but a solid overall record. Congrats on your team getting LTC qualified!

My best was when I did my 4 pack...next game the streak was broken and then I broke and ran the 6th game making 5 B&Rs out of 6 games. I haven't done that well since (this was probably 5 years ago) which sucks, but maybe someday. A goal of mine is to break and run a set to 5 giving my opponent no shot at the table :grin:. That would be pretty cool.

Thank you Yeah we have a MVP you get a plaque not much but its something. The way they do our MVP is who ever has the most top gun points we also have a most improved player too

we have mvp at the end of each session for each division.

we also have a big dawg award. each member of the team that gets the most points overall in the entire league gets a plaque. not sure about money as my team has never won it lol.

we went last year in 9 ball and we are qualified for ltc in 8 ball but i don't think the team we have now has a prayer to win it.

Ours is whoever in the division has the best win/loss percentage. They must have played 10+ matches to qualify. You either get a trophy or can take $50... lol

as i stated in an earlier post i was quiting my tue night apa travel team to play on an in house money league team. my apa lo asked me to stay on the team and play when i could.

last week my money league team had a bye so it was easy for me to play on the apa team in the play offs.

tonight i was going to money league.it did not happen. it was raining so i was not taking my bike. g/f's youngest son took her car to work. g/f's oldest son had our truck hell i was stuck at home.:mad:

got the bright idea to call one of the guys on the apa team to swing by and pick me up and go play apa tonight ... dont really know anyone very well on the money team and i don't have any of their numbers except one guy and he was staying home with a sick child when i called him.

i won 4-2 in a 4-4 race. :grin-square:

Last night was the first week of our session playoffs, we went in as the #1 seed, finishing the session in first place.

We took the first three matches, 7-0, enough to insure the win.

I won 2-0, beating another SL5. Counting playoffs, I'm 12-0 this session. (Finished in second place for Top Gun, losing to a guy who went 7-0 but averaged more points per match than me, sigh.)

One more week to win the Division Championship!

played in my laggers choice napa league tonight. i won the lag and went over to the table to look at the race matrix.

8 ball 4-4 race

9 ball him 5 ..me 3

10 ball 4-4 race

i told the captain i wanted to play 8 ball. he said i oughta play 9 ball cause he has gotta spot me 2 games. i said there is a reason he has gotta spot me 2. ...he is better at 9 than me. he says we need all the wins we can get and asks you sure you can beat him playing even ? i said i don't know how he plays but i am confident in my 8 ball game and not so much in my 9 ball game.

i said ok i will play 9 ball but if i lose i am blaming you lol.

well true to form my 9 ball game sucked.....lucky for me he sucked more and i won 3-2.:grin:

1st 9 ball game i have played in napa in about 3 months.

I did play a 2 one week, when the opposing captain tried to throw off on me....me? With three other players my speed or better on my team? Threw me for a loop. And actually put more pressure on me than any other match of the session, cuz I knew I had to get a 3-0 since I was now gonna have to have my 2 play a stronger player....only takes one mistake to E-8 or something silly to mess that up.

I know that I played at least a 3 and some 4's, too, so I don't crow too much. I still had to win, but the guy who beat me in top gun would have played all 5's, 6's and 7's so his 7-0 is pretty impressive.

Congrats on pulling out the 9-ball win. I'm with you, given a choice, I'd rather play 8-ball, I think I'm better at it.

Last match of Spring session is tonight. We have comfortable leads in our division in both 8 and 9 ball. In our division the division winner gets right through to Cash Cup without having to play in the playoffs so we're looking for a couple of nice bye weeks. I've been making a lot of stroke changes lately that will be for the better in the long run, but they are causing me some short term pain.

just saw on the website that our 8 ball ltc starts on june 13th. 32 teams in it. it will be split into 2 bracket and winner of each bracket goes to vegas.

our team is gonna need all the luck we can get since our 2 top players dropped off the team.:(

we had double jeapordy last night. unfortunately i was called to work yesterday afternoon so i told my g/f i probably would not make it before the matches were over. she asked if i wanted her to take my case in case i got off early. i said nah.. i can take the night off league for once.

well i did get off early but i went home instead . i sat there for about an hour and could not stand it and went to league ...got there during their third match.

when i walked up to our table i noticed my g/f was marking the pocket on a bank shot for the 8 ball. i called time out. suprisingly she did not get pissed ...like she usually does lol. .

i told her to cut it and where to strike the 8 ball and what english. she made it and won the match.

they threw a 6 next and she asked if i wanted to play him. i told her i guess i could but i would have to use her cues as i left mine at home. her 18 year old son ...who just joined the team last week piped up and said he wanted to play the 6.

i told him him ....you ain't ready for no 6 son.... he has an ego after starting as a 4 and being raised to a 5 this week after beating a 3 ...3-0 last week. he said i can handle him. i said go ahead boy ...get ready for an ass whipping and being dropped back to a 4 next week where you really belong.

sure enough he lost 5-0 lmao. her son said .. i almost had him a couple of racks.... i only had 1 or 2 balls left each time. i said you did not do nuthin but get most of your balls off the table leaving him wide open to run out on you each rack.

we got one lousy 5 i been complaining about in this thread. my g/f who is a 3 and 3 kids who barely know how to hold a cue.

they won 9 ball 58-42 and lost 8 ball 9-3. my g/f is only one who won 8 ball.

they did all right with out me . except for me coaching a few times. :wink:

We finished up the spring session in 2nd place last week. Tonight is first round of division playoffs then we start summer session next week. I choked again and ended up session in 2nd place in top gun standings behind a buddy on my team. He ended session 8-2 (80%) and I ended at 13-4 (77%). He's a SL4. I asked him if he wanted to play a match for team bragging rights and he declined. :thumbup: Screw catching Matt's 80 win percentage. :mad:

We are playing in the division championship tonight.

I'm a little more nervous than usual. Its been such a great session, I would hate for it to end without winning it all.

I'm confident in how we match up against our opponents, and they are all good friends, too, so its gonna be a fun night regardless.

Wish us some good luck, please :p

I am supposed to inspire you guys, not deter you from getting there! I have to play summer session to stay on a roster for 9 ball (since I LOL qualified a month ago for regionals) so I am probably only going to play 4 out of the 8 weeks. IF I lost all four to go 0-4 for the session it would drop me to 79.8%...still would round up to 80%, but that just shows how hard it is to keep it that high...motivation though right?!

Last session I was 9-2 and my hill hill record was 2-1. I shot meh imo so I am probably very fortunate to even have that record but it is what it is. I missed out playing in the last no masters tournament here in town that had a pretty good turnout (77 players), so maybe I will play the next one...t-minus 1 month to Vegas though so probably very little pool to be played from now until then (going for cards not pool).
