cleaning a garage sale find?

Hi guys,

I found this old set of balls at a yard sale, but they are dirty and have surface scratches? Anyway I think I am going to put them in the dishwasher to clean because the sand paper I used didn't get the marks off? not sure why? They are also a little smaller then my Aramiths for some reason.

Any other ideas out there?,

Yeah, the two white balls are ivory and they are in excellent condition as is. I cannot see grain in the red ball so I cannot say if it is also ivory.
