....and if I were her... I would have done it right there in front of the ref and stated to him... "What? Something in the rule book about a player taking off their tights before a tournament?" or "15 min. to change??? I can fix this problem in 15 seconds...."

yes, we do
i originally was going to say that she should have "dropped her drawers in front of God & everyone" (and as provocatively as possible) - but i thought yáll might misinterpret what i meant.

there are only maybe two style dresses, that have ever had collars. hey, i didn't see in the Rules where bras & panties were required?

Cleary - you neon-stud, i'd been waiting for the fashionista pics! send more! (minus the crotch shots)

Just after the coin flip, a ref walks up and says my partner is not in dress code and cannot play the match unless she changes. She has 15 min. to change because her dress did not have a collar. She was wearing a nice pink dress, with long sleeves and I thought looked great.
All dress code violations can be appealed at BCAPL events. One must only inform the referee that you are appealing.

Maybe next year you ought to send photos of your planned outfits to Mark before you go, and then when someone gives you grief tell them you "were authorized by Mr. Griffin, take it up with him"

:p

I'm sure Mark will just love getting requests for wardrobe pre-authorization

Bill Stock is the final authority on all dress code issues, and in his absence, Ric Jones.

I have no reason to doubt you, but if Mr. Griffin were to have given his blessing on something, one would have to expect it would carry at least a bit of weight.

And my post was mostly tongue-in-cheek, to begin with. I suppose one could re-word it to have future wardrobe plans pre-authorized by Bill Stock, if you like...

I think everyone should send photos to Mark for approval.

Maybe an over zealous referee? Every large tournament has several refs that are only missing the Hat and Chaps but are real cowboys. Were there any other ladies that had no collar?

lol next year I want to wear a referee shirt, black pants and black shoes to play my matches. Perfectly within the rules but will totally screw everyone up.

Don't forget you flag and whistle. I'd love to be there when the other team commits a foul...

lol that's out of dress code!

Truthfully speaking, I really did take dressing seriously for this tournament. While my outfits were sort of loud colors, I dressed respectfully and professionally and was told time and time again how well I was dressed. All of my outfits were either Puma golf or Nike golf clothes, head to toe. I spent about $1000 for four outfits (with matching nike airmax '14 shoes) to look, to what I believe was my best to compete. So I certainly didn't mock the dress code, but I did show my personally which is obviously bright and cheerful. My partner saw my outfits and shopped accordingly to match and it was a shame it was a problem. Next year, we will do the same thing but make sure we are 100% within the rules.

As I said, I'm not looking for an apology or whatever.. I just want them to understand that a dress code is not and should not be black & white. Just think they should rethink the women's code. All of the following would be out of dress code for this event:
