Cool cue. I considered going after it myself.

I don't know who made it but I will be interested to find out.

This one may be a challenge. I would like to see under the bumper.

OK....take your time. Don't mess up your work. :)

I really do like the cue, I think it was a smart buy in any case. It is obviously a quality cue IMHO. Some people don't really go in for the unknown stuff. I love the mystery.

joint is threaded and 120 thick

ss joint is also 1inch long

shafts 1" ivory ferrules .500 and .510 and 29 9/16" and 29 5/8" long

the butt is a .800 at the end of the stainless joint.....on the MONEY lol
then at 826 at the back side of stainless joint

top of wrap on wood 1.015 (a joint)

bottom of wrap 1.214

bottom of buttcap 1.230

buttcap bore hole .480

buttsleeve is 1.98 long with collar is 2.3" long

i tried taking screw out with my screwdriver.....and first try...no i need better for certain, dont want to slip and damage anything

so i pick the bit that fits perfect and stick in my impact drill.....i hold down firmly and carefully, and pop it three times gently and no dice....so shes glued in and i'm not breaking it thats for dam sure.

i dont know something about the cue, and the guys description just sounded honest....said people said bla bla bla he didn't know for certain, bought it in 78 and the shafts are richard blacks..

i hit some balls and both have pads....the cue plays very well and has a little better pop than usual i find than a typical ebony cue.

plays very well and is very nice. not sure if its been refinished but i think it has its pretty shiny and there seems to be some of the dust from the ebony in the maple pores.....

it rolls just a very slight taper roll on both shafts and butt rolls perfect on table, my lathes a got dam mess so its not going on there right now.

thanks for not being a jerk like deputy dawg on facebok

Can you give a close up of the shaft joint pilots? That often helps with identification. Very interesting cue.

All the best,
WW

The shaft pilots won't do any good as the shafts were made by Richard black. I had a extensive conversations with the owner when it it fleabay. He was within driving distance from me. A couple things that will make this cue very difficult to ID are.......no original shafts so we don't know what they looked like. The finish isn't original. Refinish done by previous owner. He had the cue at the SBE trying to ID it and came up dry. It was sent to Richard Black to have ID'd and he couldn't say. That's when he made the shafts. Nice pickup. I passed on it as I don't think it will ever be positively identified. I hope someone figures it out and it's a winner. Good luck to the buyer!

wonder if it could be identified if i get it xrayed.....got a dentist friend thats told me he could do it before for not much

I don't know that an x-ray will help unless you have a specific maker in mind. As in, there is a known consistent thing you are looking for. Like Balabushka's screw. Might be worth an x-ray. I dig cue x-rays anuway.

I think it's a great cue even without ID.

The ID will help the value, but with or without ID it will be the same cue.

If I had been a buyer, I'd have set the best possible outcome at Craig Peterson, not likely, though.

I would agree with this. Doesn't look like a Bushka. Joint collars look a bit wide, doesn't look like the right material for joint rings, and points look pushed up a little high for George. This is a tough one.

I'd see if Joel Hercek has an opinion on the cue. I'd ask Tascarella and Classic Cues next.

"8 o" joint? You mean a 1980's joint? Not sure there is such a thing.

Mali never made anything that looked like this cue.
