First Catalog Model 5 with (2) Shafts and Case. Presently being offered on eBay, bid soon and often.

The Palmer Model 5 is in excellent condition, recently refinished by Proficient Billiards. The back-end of the butt appears to be in the same original condition as when it came from the Palmer shop, it has not been glued or modified.

Specs:

Butt - Straight, 16 1/4 ounces, 5/16-18 Pin/Thread, .818" Joint

Shaft #1 - Straight, 4 1/8 ounces, screw-on ferrule, .804" joint, 12.9mm tip

Shaft #2 - Taper Roll, 3 7/8 ounces, screw-on ferrule, .819" joint, 12.4mm tip

Shaft #1 is straight but has a 1/2" long blemish on the tip end that terminates at the installed screw (this is the shaft I use, no noise or ill effects noted).

Shaft #2 Taper Roll - Tip does not leave the table.

The Handle on the case is cracked and needs repair or replacement.

My first serious cue was a Palmer Original that had the
screw on ferrule.. wish I still had it. Love those classic old designs.

A Classic Palmer

When it comes to classic Palmers, the Model 5 is one of the models that helped define Palmer. Jimmy Caras shot with a Model 5 as did Mosconi. It is an elegant design and there are examples with and without a window as well as with Wico, Szamboti, and in-house forearms.

imo, this cue is an excellent value at the price listed.

Is this an in-house example?
