A friend and I were wandering around downtown and he wanted me to see how cool the Main Street Station Casino looked. He told me it used to be the old railroad station. We went in and looked around. Very nice, you could tell it was an old building. Sat at the Bar, again very nice. I asked what was on the second floor balcony. He said he didn't know. We took the elevator up and walked into this. If you're in downtown Vegas its definitely worth it.

Edit:

There is 3 tables here. The middle one is a 6' x 12' snooker table and the 2 on each end are 4 1/2 x 9's. They both look like the same model.

My wife and I stumbled on this room when we were in Vegas last year. Really cool. The tables are works of art for sure. That rack is amazing too. I posted some pics back then. Definitely something to check out if you're in Vegas and into pool.

Just for the record the old train station was about 50 yards directly behind the main
entrance to the Union Plaza which is now The Plaza. Fremont street which now ends
at Main street went straight across Main and you drove right up to the front of the train station and made a little circular loop to head back the opposite direction. The Union Plaza opened in summer 1971 and the train station was history.

Beautiful tables.
I wonder who made them...

By the way, are you sure the big one was a snooker table?
Those pockets nets are pretty small...

I ask because believe it or not, ALL tables used to be that big.
Could be a really really old 'standard' pocket table....

I have to admit I love playing snooker even though I suck at it...lol

Main Street Station was developed by Bob Snow. He also developed Church Street Station in Orlando.

25+ years ago I ran the place for him in Orlando and we had a $25,000 Brunswick Monarch on the third floor of the Cheyenne Saloon with a "pool maid" who would take on all comers for a couple bucks a game. She was actually a good player and pretty much cleaned up on all the buzzed tourists. Then again, the low cut vest, high cut shorts and fishnet stockings may have had a little shark in them.

Snow only built with architectural antiques, no reproductions. Pretty amazing stories around the guy... worked on the crab boats out of Alaska while in college, ex Navy fighter pilot, sky writer, hot air ballooner (they did a TV show on his trip across Russia) developed numerous entertainment complexes and would grab his trumpet and play jam up with the Dixieland Band. What a hoot of a guy!

Me and the guy I was with were so awed over the whole setup we forgot to look! Just went and looked at some other photos I have and I can't tell. And BTW, I suck at taking photos.

No question it was a snooker table as the corner pockets were rounded.

I can' believe it! I stayed there about 5 years ago and never knew they were up there!

I never knew about it either and i was in there when they first opened in 1992, in fact i met my future wife in there, lol.
I remember this guy had this coin toss game in there, i forget the name of it but it was of Australian origin, Two up i think they called it, played with 3 coins which were tossed in the air off a paddle and i forget what the rules were. It never caught on.

Wow, really cool tables. I wish I had known they were there when I was visiting Vegas.

Oh, and just out of interest, 2 Up is a Traditional Aussie gambling game which is (traditionally) Played with (as the name suggests) 2 Coins. ;)

Its also generally illegal (in Aust) to hold games, except on certain occasions.
