Cue extensions: how tight should the fit be?

Hi,

I bought an X5 extension for my cue:

Before purchasing I inquired if the 3/8 x 10 extension would fit a modified 3/8 x 10 pin on an OB cue, and I received a reply that said they tested the extension on an OB cue and it fit. However, when I try to screw my butt into the extension after about 1-2 rotations it starts to seize up. Should I use more force to screw the butt into the extension? My shaft screws on very easily to the butt--there is no binding at all.

You could screw it in with more force, but then you'll have to use more force to take it apart, and then repeat that every time.

Are the pins the same length? Some times you have to chase the hole with a tap. That's what I did with my mid extension (although the pin wasn't 3/8-10).
