ours is (typically) an individual discipline
and I love that about pool/billiards
you get to know yourself/people
but often
something extra happens
when one person's style
mixes with another
sometimes it's special

"who would win" is always interesting to think about
or maybe the way players interact just makes for a good game

it could be a match up that's happened, that you'd change the conditions of
or would just want to see as it originally occurred

like reyes vs. varner in their prime
reyes vs. sigel
earl vs. shane
bergman vs. pagulayan
alex vs. dennis
ceulemans vs. blomdahl
mosconi vs. self

or one that hasn't (?)
rocket vs. hurricane
buddy vs. worst
alcano vs. melling
balukas vs. the dutchess
mark twain vs. rudolph wanderone
hey bata, come to seattle? :grin-square:

any game, format, use the plane, time machine, etc.- let's have some fun:thumbup:

Politics aside, I’d love to see these two play a race to three.

Ceulemans blomdahl happened many a time
There are no great match ups in 3c that havent happened
Old school would be totally outclassed by todays players

And the technical games is more about your performance , has little to do with who your playing

The matches we never got that I'd like to see are:

Straight Pool: the Mike Sigel of the 1980's vs the Willie Mosconi of the 1950's.

9-ball: the Buddy Hall of the 1970's vs the Luther Lassiter of the 1950's.

Bank Pool: The John Brumback of the 2000's vs the Eddie Taylor of the 1950's.

One Pocket: the Efren Reyes of the 2000's vs the Rags Fitzpatrick of the 1950's.

Eight Ball: the Efren Reyes of the 2000's vs the Nick Varner of the 1980's.

John Schmidt vs Danny Harriman.

What more is there to say? We see these two matches and are satisfied with life. We won.

Also as mentioned in the Original Post...Alex the L P against Dennis the O. One pocket race to 40 or maybe best of 3 sets to 15

Ohh like sjm said above...Efren vs Nick V in their prime, 8 ball

lets do more than talk lets put some money together to sweeten the kitty

I will provide the perfect 9 foot table with 5i inch pockets so they can go fot their hole
