Day Jobs?

I often wonder, what do some of the pros and former pros who don't strictly play pool as their primary source of income do? I know a lot are probably house pro types, but anyone know some of their other professions?

I remember reading something about George Breedlove being in the outdoor furniture business, or something along those lines.

Yep, that was the first one that came to mind. Nick Varner has his cue company. Don't know if Mike Sigel still is making cues or putting his name on them. Ed Kelly is out in Vegas working for the casino. Jesse Bowman plays way more cards then he plays pool these days. It seems like a lot pros or former pros have pool related jobs, if they do have jobs.

Johnny Archer sells top of the range specs incorporating secret lens technology enabling the wearer to see microscopic items no bigger than 1/100th of the diameter of the point of a needle and invisible to everyone else in the room. Each pair bought comes with a free static electricity producing bracelet enabling simple fingertip removal of lint.

Day jobs totally outside the pool world:

Irving Crane - car salesman, and before that he sold insurance

Steve Mizerak - taught school (until the Miller Lite commercial made him famous to the outside world)

Joe Balsis - a butcher

Babe Cranfield - vice president of the Muzak ("elevator music") company
