Dean, I have surfed the forum for quite a while before I started to participate. When I saw some of your for sale threads, selling cues without pics, I thought to myself.....this guy is nuts!! Who is going to buy a cue blind.
After seeing your reputation here on the forum and seeing some cues you have sold thanks to this thread, I have come to realize how wrong I was. I can honestly say, I would have zero issue purchasing a cue from you blind, as it is quite apparent, not only do u have a great rep but also wonderful taste in cues too!!! Really good stuff here! Cheers!!!

Tommypabs.......if Willie Mosconi was still around and he gave you advice how to play a tough shot,
in all likelihood you'd at least pay close attention or else literally do exactly what he was saying to do.
When Dean tells you this is a keeper cue, treat it like Mosconi telling you how to pocket a tough shot.

these pictures are really nice
i wish i had been able to post or even take pictures

it saddens me that so many guys that i used to see on the forum are
no longer here

i doubt if any here even remember the old Deano cues that
John Nemic made for me.They were what introduced to
the forum me

I wish someone would post pictures of at least one of them

I really think they were the best playing cues I ever saw.
Sneaky Petes with a big wood pin, nothing resembling a pro taper

I remember drawing the ball better with that old cue than anything I ever had

I do remember the Deano cues and I also thought then, he's outa his mind!! ..Unseen? brouhaha...... never... I've been proven wrong, since, and yet again. That wood pin, there is another gentleman building those and I have had several, all hit like a dream.... when I tried to tell someone the difference..the best I could come up with for an explanation was....the cue hits quiet....

thank you for pics of the deano cue

I am currently wanting to buy one with the JN on the butt if you see one straight is all i ask

this was the most fun cue i ever had

I designed everything fom the wood pin,the sheaky with no finish ,only a tung oil wrap because

wrapless cues with finish seem to get sticky, the conical taper

I never had a better cue
Tim Scruggs got a big charge out of all the trouble i was catching
He knew that I really knew very little about cues so he had me send
him one of these to examin

he liked it so much he changed his taper the last few years
at least less pro taper

i want one back now

I sent this little fella some comic books
I forgot about this,
but from the looks of things,he won't forget

When you think how easy it is to please a little fella
makes you wonder why we don't take time to
make them happy

I've been friends with Dean for over 50 years, and I can honestly say I have
borrowed dozens of cues from him and have never been disappointed. I
tested them all giving my expert opinion on each and every one at no charge,
and even paid for the return shipping. I have coached and guided him in
all kinds of sports, fast pitch softball, golf, pool, bronc busting just to name
a few. Like most, we won a few, and lost a f ,nah forget that, a few is
three or more. we never lost that many times. Maybe once twice at the
most all the other times we took it off. In all seriousness , If I was going
somewhere not knowing when or if I would ever return and had to pick
someone to hold on to everything I had until I returned Dean would be
the one.

Deanoc Cue

Here you go Dean. Think this is the Nemec you mentioned. I have bought three over the last couple years, all with different pins, wood, steel and G-10. My main player is a Nemec, never found a better playing cue. I may let one go if anyone is interested. The steel pin cue is signed Deano. Sorry about the poor pictures.

I started to withhold a couple of pieces just to make it frustrating
This is Jake Hulsey the great cue maker for those who don't recognise
his Az handle

I gave him the box with all those parts, come to think of it I haven't seen
Jake since

Thaks to all of you for posting some of the beautiful things I used to own

Will Prout, that 1967 Bonnieville Triumph 650 cc inpurple
has to be the absolute best motorcycle ever made

The music cues are so beautiful
and the Mighty Mouse case all bring back memories

The box cues by Bob Owen are lovely

Fortunately ,Bob is making me another one now

Wait, look at that Balabushka Tribute with the green stuff from the shop of George Balabushka

Phil, you let those ebony cues slip away,i thought i was the only one to do that

Oh,look at the south west cues that will has,Ferari, and the case didn't come from me

I miss these cues

Will ,do you have Mosconi's Balabushka that he offered me face to face for
$2800 in Ft Worth

I think we could make a case for me being the biggest idiot in all
of pooldom for letting these go

surely the case is solid
is it any wonder i have made so many friends in pool

if not lets show some of the rest of the cues that slipped through my hands

What year would you guess that the $2800 offer was made to you Dean?

What year was the offer made to me?

probably in the late 80s

the cue sold for over $100,000 last i heard
I was sulking about losing $98,000 profit to Dennis Glenn

He replied"you really only lost $1000,even if you had bought it,you would have sold it to me for $1000 profit"

I reflected,he was right ,I only lost $1000,no big deal
at least i felt better

Looks like a GT. The GTs didn't come out till mid-year 65. I would like to hear the story behind the tag too!

Larry

Larry,

This plate was chosen as a result of amazing bureaucratic stupidity, one with more than a little humor associated with it.

I will tell how the car came to its plate, but first a tidbit. The 1966 Mustang was the first auto to be made
in which you could order a factory 8 track player. The first ever.
There is more than a slight chance that this very 1966 GT was the first one delivered by Ford with an 8 Track, as this car
is fully "decked out" and was used by FMC as part of a tour/display.

But to the plate......

I went to DMV and wanted a vanity plate. I had conjured up 7 possibilities, in case my first choice was taken.
I tried 1966 GT. Nope.
I tried 66 GT. Nope.
I tried GT CONV. Nope........until all my choices were gone.
Then I thought about the 8Track.
I finally tried zero zero zero one. Nope.
Out of desperation, I asked the DMV clerk, "What is the difference on a KS plate between a zero and the letter O?"
She said there was no difference on a plate. They look identical.
I said, "Please check Oh-Oh-Oh-1".
She said it was available.
And I took it!
So the plate is not zero zero zero one. It is Oh-Oh-Oh-1.
Heh, heh, heh......I won. (Or is it EYE ONE?)
Rhoda punched me in the arm as we left the DMV.
Probably more than you wanted, but that's the story.

Will Prout
