cues

Joey,
I'm usually there selling cues. The owners and wait staff are like family to all. They have always put on a fine competition with some great players. Numbers range from 50 to 100. Stop by and introduce yourself. I have a question about Efren's cue for you.

See you in Ft. Walton Beach.

Stop it Matt! It is only 5 hours and 31 minutes from where you live. That is only an hour or so longer than it takes for me to drive there. I know you can spot me an hour and it would take you far more hours to fly than to drive when you take into consideration the drive to the airport, wait in the airport and who has ever heard of anyone flying into Eglin, AFB?

Cool, I will look for you there.
Great.

Sounds Good Tom.

That's it????????
Out of this entire forum, there is only four people interested in this event?

$1500 added money guaranteed!

A perfectly run tournament.

All prize money paid out. 9 ball on big tables.

Oh yeah, NO GREEN FEES! AND NO QUARTERS . Lol Oh yeah and NO TOUR FEES. No annual fees.

That's it????? Four people....

I remember several years ago, a few of our local bangers went to this event and two of them beat really BIG NAME players and cashed in the tournament. Their heads stayed swollen for years. (The bangers and the top players). :D

Starcade is a great room. I have played there many times and never had a complaint.

Airport

You can also fly into Pensacola it is only about a 45 minute drive to Ft Walton. The good thing about this tourney is there are many decent hotels that can be had cheap this time of year. Also plenty of places within walking distance to eat.

Hey Joey,

Thanks for posting the thread!

I was at Starcade Thursday for their weekly handicapped 9 ball tourney this past week. They usually have $20 minis running all night the Friday before the tournament. Great food and plenty of action going on around the clock.

Pensacola regional airport is about 45/60 minutes from the room. I live right by the airport, so if any players plan on flying in, let me know and I may be able to accomodate with directions, a ride, or place to stay.

Also, rumor has it, Johnny Archer was possibly slated for participation in this event. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing for us shortstops... But it is what it is!

D.J. Hennessy

That is an awesome offer D.J.! See you there. There are LOTS of talented players at this event and it would be a lot of fun to play someone of Johnny's caliber regardless of how hard he beats on me. :)

I forgot to add that Starcade Billiards has these INCREDIBLE theater seats that are tiered for the sweaters and players to sit in and watch the matches. I have been known to take a quick snooze in them and no one disturbed me. :D

Since the match times are posted in advance, if you snooze in the chairs, make sure to set your alarm clock on your cell to VIBRATE. (You'll awaken fast, possibly thinking that someone is going through your pockets. :D J/k, it's not that kind of place.

There is a conflict

Don't know if it really is a conflict because they are so far apart but this is at the same time as the U.S. Bar Table Championship in Reno put on by Marc Griffin. A great venue with 40 Diamond bar tables and 10, 9ft. Diamonds for the fairly newly formed worldppa who are throwing a handicap 9 ball tourny on weekend along with the bar tourny. The venue is great in a grand ballroom of the Grand Sierra Casino. If you are friends with Bob Beaulieu on Facebook he has posted pictures. Very impressive.
