My uneducated, non-cuemaker guess would be that someone partially converted a Huebler house cue.

These were made by Huebler as one piece house cues. Someone cut it and put in a joint, also re tapered the butt end skinnier and left the end like that.

Not really, maybe because the butt has the knob on the end..lol

He produced a lot of these cues (mark 2) one piece house cues. I converted one a while ago and sold it. They make great players for sure.

IMHO I would consider it more of an odd curiosity. That somebody chose to turn it that way is a little odd.

If it could be attributed to a well known maker perhaps it could be valued more strongly or noted as a "one of a kind" or one of a rare series of conversions.

Maybe they wanted just to save the logo?

How narrow is that butt turned down? Looks pretty thin.

Some cue on a Huebler Hustler cue

the cue is a 2 piece Hustler cue. It looks to have been worked on by someone. wouldn't have been Paul. if the cue had started as a one piece cue the logo would have read Huebler Markll Made in USA

It was a Mark 2 blank like I said. The mark 2 was turned off when the butt was turned down leaving the made by Huebler part.

Ok, yeah....

I just missed an unmolested Mark II signed by Huebler himself in mint shape...in a full length case. :(

Sold for $150
